President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about stabilization measures in liberated Kherson and extremely fierce battles in Donetsk.

"I wish good health to all dear Ukrainians!

Today we all feel a sense of elevation. I don't know if there is anyone who hasn't watched the video with our Kherson residents meeting Ukrainian defenders.

Months of Russian occupation, months of tormenting our people, months of stories that Russia was supposedly here forever... And yet on the streets — a sea of Ukrainian flags. People never thought about giving up Ukraine. The world sees this now. It sees what it means when Ukrainians meet their own. It sees what unity among Ukrainians means. And it sees why we must liberate our land from occupiers.

We will see many more such meetings. In those towns and villages that are still under occupation. We won't forget anyone, leave no one behind. Thanks to our defensive operations and diplomacy, we will definitely come out to our state border — to all parts of the internationally recognized border of Ukraine.

As of this evening, defense forces have established control over more than 60 populated areas in Kherson region, police has started stabilization measures. In Kherson itself, stabilization measures are also underway.

There is a lot of work for our explosive ordnance disposal teams everywhere on the liberated territory. Already almost 2 thousand hazardous items — mines, booby traps, unexploded ammunition — have been removed.

The occupiers destroyed all critical infrastructure before fleeing Kherson — communication, water supply, heating, electricity... In Russia's hands everywhere the goal is maximum tormenting of people. But we will restore everything. Believe me. While it may take time, everyone already understands — the result will be ours, Ukrainian.

It is very important now to tell all Kherson residents to be careful and not attempt to independently check any buildings or items left by occupiers. Please, if you have contact with city dwellers, definitely pass this on to them.

In Kherson, ten explosive ordnance disposal teams are working, the police is operating, various defense force units are present. Today one of our sappers was unfortunately injured while defusing an administrative building. So please, dear Kherson residents, be careful yourselves and inform law enforcement or rescue workers about any suspicious items you see.

This applies to residents of other populated areas on the liberated territory as well. Please take care of your safety. This is very important.

I would like to address separately today all our military personnel who are stationed in other front sectors, everyone who cares about our security at borders, everyone who defends Ukraine in the air and on the sea, everyone who works for defense in rear areas.

This success of ours in the south was made possible thanks to all our defenders and defenderesses honorably fulfilling their duties. The words of gratitude that our defenders hear now in Kherson region — these are words of gratitude to you all. To everyone who fights for Ukraine, works towards our victory, and helps achieve results needed by our state at their level.

And especially this is a word of thanks to those who endure Russian attacks on Donetsk — there it's simply hell. There are extremely fierce battles every day. But our units defend bravely, withstand the terrible pressure of occupiers, preserve our defense lines. This is very important. Thanks to strong defenses there, in Donetsk, we can conduct offensive operations on other fronts. I thank all our soldiers who defend Ukraine in these particularly fierce battles. Pavlivka, Mariinka, Perevalsk, Avdiivka...

The First and Second Battalions of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 68th Separate Jäger Brigade, the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 56th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade and the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade "Zaporizhzhia Sich" that supports them all... Thank you for your steadfastness, for your bravery!

And I join the words of gratitude and wishes that our fighters from the 28th and 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigades and the 59th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade have already heard from Kherson residents, our scouts, our soldiers of Special Operations Forces and National Guard. Well done. Thank you all for brilliantly fulfilling tasks to liberate Kherson!

It will be the same in Henichesk and Melitopol. We will come to all our towns and villages in Donbas as well. We will definitely see how there, in Crimea, Ukrainian forces will meet with Ukrainian flags that are preserved there too, hundreds of them on the streets on the day of liberation.

I thank everyone who fights and works for a Ukrainian victory! I thank everyone around the world who helps us so much!

Eternal glory to all those who gave their lives for our homeland Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!"
