To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 28, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and forty-seventh day of heroic resistance against Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is attempting to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces at certain points while continuing offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

During the day, units of the Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the following populated places: Andriyivka, Bilohorivka (Luhansk region); Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Veremivka, Zelenopillya, Siversk, Mayorshchyna, Mariinka, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Perevalne, Yakovlivka (Donetsk region).

The enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the line of contact, conducting fortification work at certain points, including on the left bank of the Dnipro River, actively carrying out aerial reconnaissance.

Violating international humanitarian law and the laws and customs of war, it continues to inflict strikes against critical infrastructure and civilian housing.

During the day, the enemy carried out 15 air raids and one missile strike, conducted over 40 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers. As a result, populated places such as Bilohirka, Nova Kamyanka, Novogredneve (Kherson region), Stepanovka (Zaporizhzhia region) and Mariinka and Pavlivka in Donetsk were affected.

On the Volynian and Polesian directions, the situation remains unchanged. The Republic of Belarus continues to support Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, providing its territory, airspace, and infrastructure. There is a threat of missile and air strikes, including with the use of combat drones.

On other fronts, the enemy carried out shelling:

on the Northern and Slobozhansky directions— from Russian territory using artillery of various types in the areas of populated places Boyaro-Lyachy, Vodolagi, Hryhoriivka, Pysaryvka, Rizhyvka (Sumy region) and Vilkhuvatka, Vochniansk, Ohrymovka, Starytsia (Kharkiv region);

on the Kupyansk and Lyman directions — with tanks, mortars, artillery of various types in the areas of populated places Druzhelubivka, Petro-Ivanivka (Kharkiv region), Zarichne, Yamopolivka (Donetsk region) and Makieyivka and Nevskiy on Luhansk territory;

on the Bakhmut direction— with tanks and artillery of various types in the areas of populated places Bakhmut, Bakhmutskoye, Verkhnyokamyanske, Opytnoye, Rozdolyvka, Siversk, Mayorshchyna and Yakovlivka;

on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out shelling with mortars, artillery of various types near Avdiivka, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, Nevelske, Novomikhaylivka and Perevalne (Donetsk region).

On the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy carried out artillery shelling in the areas of 15 populated places. Among them — Bilohirya, Hulyaypole, Dorozhnyanka (Zaporizhzhia region) and Vuhledar, Novosyolka, Pavlivka and Prechystivka (Donetsk region).

On the Southern Buzok direction, areas of 20 populated places near the line of contact were affected by fire.

According to updated information, confirmed casualties among enemy personnel and equipment have been reported for previous days. Thus, in Zaporizhzhia region, eight units of weapons and military equipment of various types were destroyed and up to 120 servicemen were injured. In temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, about 100 wounded occupiers were transported to medical facilities.

The command of Russian occupation forces is trying by all means to hide real losses among military personnel in order to avoid panic among the troops.

So-called «evacuation» from temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region continues. Significant attention is being paid to transporting medical equipment and property, as occupiers call it, “nationalized” enterprises. Thus, from the populated place Bilozerska, local hospital equipment is being transported to cities Skadovsk and Henichesk. At the same time, an increase in enemy groupings on the right bank of temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region with mobilized servicemen numbering up to 1000 people has been noted.  They are housed in homes of local residents who have left these territories.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 29 strikes during the past day. Confirmed damage to 21 areas of enemy personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, three strongholds and five positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. Anti-aircraft units shot down two enemy Ka-52 helicopters and one Su-25 ground attack aircraft.

Ukrainian rocket forces and artillery damaged four areas of enemy personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment and one ammunition depot.
