To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 19, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and thirty-eighth day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on restraining actions of the Defense Forces at certain points while continuing attempts to launch offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

During the day, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the populated places of Oghrecheve and Dvorychyna in Kharkiv Oblast; Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; Novokalynove, Mayorshk, Odarivka, New York, Novomykhailivka, Neveliske, Opitne, and Mariinka in Donetsk Oblast.

The enemy is shelling our troops' positions along the line of contact, carrying out engineering equipment of defensive positions and sectors at certain points, and conducting aerial reconnaissance. In violation of international humanitarian law, laws, and customs of war, it continues to inflict blows on critical infrastructure and civilian housing.

During the day, the enemy inflicted 10 rocket and 18 air strikes, carried out more than 76 shelling with multiple launch rocket systems.

Areas of over ten populated places suffered from these attacks. Among them — Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast, Trihaty in Mykolaiv Oblast, and Mykolaiv.

For this purpose, the enemy used cruise, aviation, and air defense guided missiles. In addition, occupiers used 14 unmanned aerial vehicles of Iranian manufacture Shahed-136, ten of which were shot down by units of the Defense Forces.

On the Volynian and Polissian directions, the situation has not changed significantly. The Republic of Belarus continues to support military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, maintaining a threat of missile and air strikes as well as launching Shahed-136 attack drones from its territory.

On other fronts, the enemy carried out shelling:

on the Northern direction — with mortars and field artillery within populated places of Hay in Chernihiv Oblast and Yunakiivka, Khotyn, Tovstodubove, and Demchenkove in Sumy Oblast;

on the Slobozhansky direction — with mortars, field and rocket artillery in areas of populated places of Vovchanskyy Hutori, Volohivka, Gatishe, Krasne, Oghrecheve, Starytsia, Strilecha, and Khatnye;

on the Kupyansky direction — with tanks, field and rocket artillery in areas of populated places of Berestove, Dvorychyna, Gryyankivka, Kamianka, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, and Stelmakhivka;

on the Lyman direction — with artillery of various types in areas of populated places of Grekivka, Zarichne, Novyegorivka, Serbyryanka, Terne, Torske, and Yamopolivka;

on the Bakhmut direction — with tanks, mortars, field and rocket artillery in areas of populated places of Andriyivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutse, Bilohorivka, Zvanivka, Kurdyumivka, Mayorshk, Opitne, Rozdolivka, Solorad, Spirene, and Yakovlivka;

on the Avdiyivka direction — with tanks and artillery of various calibers in areas of populated places of Avdiyivka, Pervomaisk, Karlivka, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, and Novomykhailivka.

On the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, areas of populated places of Velyka Novosylikha, Vuhledar, Vremyvka, Mykilske, Neskuchove, Pavlivka, Olgivske, Stepole, and Prichystive suffered shelling.

On the South Buzhsky direction, the enemy is trying to improve logistical support, conducting artillery strikes in areas of over twenty populated places along the line of contact. Infrastructure in Vyshtarasivka of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was most affected by enemy fire.

Occupants are taking measures for covert movement of military equipment and personnel. To this end, in the populated places of Tavriisk and Nova Kakhovka of Kherson Oblast, the enemy is blocking the work of mobile communication operators and the Internet.

The occupiers continue to destroy Ukrainian cultural heritage on temporarily occupied territories, looting museums, burning Ukrainian literature and textbooks printed in Ukrainian.

According to available information, there are significant problems with monetary payments for military personnel participating in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. Payments of monetary bonuses for participation in combat operations are being withheld from the specified category. Relatives of those killed cannot receive promised compensation.

The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted 24 strikes during the previous day. Confirmation of damage to sixteen areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, a support point, as well as eight positions of enemy air defense missile systems was received. In addition, units of anti-aircraft defense shot down five cruise missiles and an Su-25 aircraft.

Rocket forces and artillery inflicted damage to four command points, five areas of concentration of manpower, weapons, and military equipment, two objects of air defense and one — of artillery, two ammunition depots, a radar station, as well as other enemy military targets.
