"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!"
Today, an important decision was made. A just one. Legally impeccable. Historical.
Ukraine has confirmed its respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Japan, including its Northern Territories, which are currently under Russian occupation.
Today I signed the corresponding decree. There is a statement from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. And we call on everyone in the world to adopt similar decisions.
Russia has no right to these territories. Everyone in the world knows this well. And it's time to act.
We need to liberate all lands from Russian occupation that occupiers are trying to keep for themselves.
Only then can we restore full force to international law. The UN Charter and the entire body of treaties and conventions on which the international legal order is based will only work when occupiers lose, and peoples around the world are protected from any occupation.
This war against Ukraine, against the international legal order, against our people has put Russia in a situation where it's now just a matter of time — real liberation of everything that was once seized and is currently under Kremlin control.
Russia will show potential aggressors around the world through its own example that foreign terrorist warfare in our times — is a path to weakening and inevitable ruin for whoever starts such a war.
The aggressor must lose. That's how it will be. To prevent such wars from happening again and to ensure lasting peace. Nothing should remain for the occupiers.
I believe — and for our partners, justice will be restored.
Just this week, our soldiers liberated 776 square kilometers of territory in the east of our country from Russian pseudo-referendums and 29 populated areas, including six in Luhansk. In total, since the start of this offensive operation, we have already liberated 2434 square kilometers of our land and 96 populated areas.
And today I want to honor the soldiers of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, and the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade for their heroic efforts in liberating Ukrainian land.
Good results are also being achieved on Southern Ukraine this week — every day we free our land and people from pseudo-referendums there too.
We will definitely reach the territories that were occupied by Russia earlier as well.
Thank you to all of our defenders who make this possible!
In these 225 days, already 29,887 Ukrainian soldiers have been awarded state honors. 178 soldiers have been honored with the title Hero of Ukraine.
Such a scale of bravery and heroism among our fighters unequivocally proves that Ukraine cannot be stopped.
And every Russian strike, all manifestations of Russian terror — against Zaporizhzhia, against Kharkiv, against Mykolaiv, against Donbas and all other territories of ours — only prove that the liberation of our entire land is the sole foundation for peace and security for all Ukrainians.
Today I participated in a European Council meeting. Thanked our partners for the eighth sanctions package against Russia and for all support provided to Ukraine.
We are working together to increase our joint capabilities — for everyone in Europe.
We have already started preparing for important events planned for next week, both in Ukraine and at the international level.
It will be a strong week for our country, it will be a strong week for our defense.
Eternal glory to all who fight and work for peace in Ukraine!
Eternal glory to our heroes!
Glory to Ukraine!"
