President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about the results of the investigation into a traitorous group that worked in the interests of the Russian Federation and about new provocations by the occupiers.

"I wish good health to all dear Ukrainians!

Today, I was informed about the results of another operation against criminals who worked for the enemy.

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation together with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former head of the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. This person was dismissed from their position by me at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and as we see now, that decision was absolutely justified. There is enough evidence to inform this individual about suspicion of treason against the state. All his criminal actions are documented. Everything he did over these months and earlier will receive a proper legal assessment.

Similarly, those who were part of this criminal group working in the interests of the Russian Federation will also be held accountable. This involves the transfer of secret information to the enemy and other facts of cooperation with Russian special services.

I would like to thank everyone involved in this operation. This can truly be called a cleansing process.

I visited frontline regions—the most difficult ones. Personally, I reviewed the activities, including those of law enforcement agencies. Based on these results, as you already know, personnel decisions were made regarding regional security sector leaders—Kherson and Kharkiv. We also looked into local executive authority leadership.

Specific actions and any inaction of each person holding a position in the security sector and law enforcement agencies will be evaluated. The relevant inspection of law enforcement agencies already has initial results and will continue further.

As of today, 651 criminal proceedings have been registered regarding state treason and collaborationist activities by employees of the prosecutor's office, pre-trial investigation bodies, and other law enforcement agencies. In 198 criminal proceedings, suspects were informed about suspicion against them. Specifically, more than 60 prosecutors and SBU staff remained on occupied territory and are working against our country.

Such a massive array of crimes against the foundations of national security and connections that have been documented between Ukrainian law enforcement personnel and Russian special services raise very serious questions for relevant leaders. Each such question will receive an appropriate answer. Today, I issued decisions to remove from their positions the Prosecutor General and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

I want everyone who is responsible for the extremely sensitive issue of appointing a new head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office to hear me today.

My position as President of Ukraine—the competition that took place should lead to a logical decision regarding the appointment of a new leader. The relevant person has been chosen, and it is up to the competition commission to finalize this decision.

Why is this issue sensitive? The answer is obvious. Without a fully-fledged head of such an institution, its full functionality is impossible. By the way, the same applies to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. The term of office of the previous leader has ended. A competitive procedure must be initiated for selecting a new head of NABU. I instructed the Prime Minister of Ukraine to activate this process.

I know that anti-corruption infrastructure staff are performing their duties even now, under these conditions, and they also participate in defending our country. For example, seven employees of NABU were awarded state honors after February 24th.

However, the full functionality of any government agency can only be utilized when there is an effective leader. Therefore, this competition is extremely important as well.

Today, Russia made another not very sober statement about a so-called "judgment day" for Ukraine. Of course, no one will take such intimidation seriously. But look how cynical it is to say the same today—on the anniversary of the destruction by Russia in Ukrainian airspace of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17. 298 people were killed in an obvious act of terrorism. 80 children. Citizens of ten countries.

Even then, Russia was heading down this path—to the status of a state-sponsor of terror and to a special tribunal that will definitely take place regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine. This will be judgment day for Russia. And not in a figurative sense, not as a loud slogan, but literally.

As of 19 o'clock today, Russia has already used over three thousand air-launched missiles against Ukraine. It is impossible to count the number of artillery and other shells that have been fired at our country and its people. But it will be possible to hold all Russian war criminals accountable. Every collaborator. All those responsible for terror. For everything that happened 144 days ago and more than eight years. This will be done.

I spoke today with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Of course, we discussed our cooperation, and I thanked him, thanked Canada for its support.

But separately, I emphasized that Ukrainians will never accept Canada's decision regarding a turbine for Nord Stream, which was decided to be handed over to Germany in violation of the sanctions regime.

This is not just about the turbine. This is about compliance with sanctions. If there is one breach now, it is only a matter of time before others follow. Russia deliberately does this, blackmailing with gas and provoking breaches of sanctions.

There are enough ways for Russian gas to transit to Europe. And each country must preserve its principles.
