According to the plans, the start of the 32nd women's football championship in Ukraine's top league for the 2022/2023 season is scheduled for September 10—11, 2022, reports the Ukrainian Women's Football Association.

The project of the new season envisages the participation of 12 teams that will play under a standard format in two rounds: 11 matches in the first round, which is planned to be completed by December, and another 11 matches already in spring 2023.

For the first time in the history of domestic women's football, teams from the top league will compete for two spots representing Ukraine in next season’s Women’s Champions League: the national champion will start their path at the first qualifying stage of the Champions Path, while the team that finishes second in the championship will play in the first round of the Representatives Path.

The team finishing 12th in the Ukrainian top league for the 2022/2023 season will move to the first league.

Also, considering the appeals from clubs, it was considered that due to the war situation in these regions, teams "Zhiltobud-1" (Kharkiv) and "Voskhod" (Stara Mayachka, Kherson region) could not participate in the next season's championship. As a result, it was decided to retain their places in the top league for the 2023/2024 season.
