If the full-scale war had not started, Ukraine would have all the prospects for the development of women's football. This was stated in an interview on a marathon broadcast by TV channels “Dom” and UA “Ukraine Speaks” by Andriy Pavelko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association and UEFA Executive Committee member.

"A few years ago we adopted a revolutionary decision, and all clubs in the Premier League, first and second divisions of Ukraine's championship were required to submit their women’s team every year. This was a licensing condition. Currently, during the war, we do not remove this requirement. And clubs that will play in the UPL must have their girls' teams. We are confident that this year we will restore the Ukrainian women's championship," said Andriy Pavelko.

He noted that before the war, Luis Cortés became the head coach of Ukraine's national women’s team, "the best coach in Europe and the world who has received awards from UEFA and global experts."

"Luis Cortés with Barcelona won the final of the Women's Champions League against Chelsea — 4:0. The best professional! We need him to take our team to a new level. In their last match, they defeated Hungary — 2:0. And this was already good play. Cortés will also manage all our women’s teams and help coaches of women's teams in the Ukrainian championship. So women's football in Ukraine has a great future," said Pavelko.
