As part of the preparation for the main round qualifiers for Euro 2022 (U-19) in futsal, blue-and-yellow played at the Futsal Week U-19 international tournament held in Poreč, Croatia. There, Ukrainians conducted five matches and secured third place.

After the tournament in Croatia, Vitaliy Odegov's wards traveled to Chiorescu, Moldova, where they will play group 6 matches of the Euro 2022 main round qualifiers. Ahead of the official matches, blue-and-yellow conducted a preparatory camp.

Recall that on August 30 last year, there was the draw for the main round qualification for the second European Championship in futsal (U-19). Based on its results, Vitaliy Odegov's wards were placed in group 6, where they will face Belgium, Moldova and the winner of group A from the previous round — Andorra.

The Ukrainian team was designated as the host of one of the mini-tournaments that were to take place at Lviv's "Bosco-Arena" on March 16-19. However, due to Russia's military invasion, the matches were rescheduled for July 7-10 this year. The games will be hosted by Chiorescu, Moldova.

Today our team starts its group 6 campaign with a match against Andorra (kick-off at 3 p.m. Kyiv time). Live broadcast — via link.

Recall that based on the results of the main round qualifiers, seven participants in the final tournament of the European Championship 2022 among youth teams are already known. Joining Spain, which will be the host for the first time, are Italy, Portugal, France, Poland, Romania and Croatia. The last participant in Euro 2022 will be determined by the results of group 6 matches.

The final stage of Euro 2022 (U-19) futsal will take place from September 3 to 10 in Jaén, Spain at "Olivo-Arena," which accommodates 6,500 spectators. According to the draw, eight tournament participants will be divided into two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals.

Recall that on the first-ever Euro in futsal among juniors, which took place in 2019, Ukraine's national team qualified for the final tournament and secured third place in its group. And Spain's team became the champion, one of the teams that had wronged blue-and-yellow. —
