In the semifinal, Ukraine's team lost to Spain with a score of 0:9. So today, the blue and yellow team played for third place against Hungary, which previously lost to Portugal — 0:6. It should be noted that today’s opponents of our team qualified for the final tournament due to the exclusion of Russian national teams and clubs from FIFA and UEFA competitions.

The first half was clearly dominated by Ukraine. On the second minute, both teams exchanged dangerous moments: Skibina after a one-on-one failed to beat the goalkeeper, while Sagaidachna blocked Gorvat's shot. Afterwards, blue and yellow only increased their advantage in terms of shots and chances, for example, Gryzhenko kissed the crossbar with a corner kick, and Skibina narrowly missed an empty goal.

On the 9th minute, Ukraine's team scored a goal through Titova, assisted by Ruban. Later, Oleg Shaytanov’s wards had several opportunities to increase their lead. For instance, on the 16th minute, Skibina found herself in front of the goalkeeper, but Torma saved her shot. Just before halftime, Volovenko attempted a goal at an empty net, but was blocked by the opponent.

At the beginning of the second half, Ukraine scored again — after Titova's corner pass, Volovenko netted. Shortly thereafter, Skibina had a good position but missed her shot off target. Hungary responded with dangerous shots from Folk near the post and Gorvat in goalmouth area. On the 27th minute, Ruban had an opportunity, yet lacked precision.

Later on, the teams exchanged shots from Chepregi and Burlichenko, which were saved by goalkeepers. In the last 10-minute stretch, Hungary frequently played with five outfield players, and at the 39th minute, Gorvat scored a consolation goal. Despite this, Oleg Shaytanov’s wards managed to maintain their winning score. Thus, for the second time in their own history of the European Championship, Ukraine's women's national team won bronze medals!
