The first round opponent of the blue-and-yellow team was England, which holds the third place in the BSWW world ranking. Despite this status, Yuri Klimenko's protégés did not back down and already led 1-0 at the sixth minute of the first period thanks to a goal by Yuliia Kostenko. At the tenth minute, our team doubled their lead thanks to an own goal by Katy James.

Unfortunately, the second twelve-minute period did not turn out as successful for the Ukrainians. Three goals flew into Irina Slavych's net in succession after shots from Rebecca Burrone, Hannah Hotton, and an own goal by Yuliia Dektiar. After this, our goalkeeper managed to restore balance, but it was decided by Wendy Martin's final goal.

In the end, 4-3 — a victory for England.
