In the previous two Nations League matches, the blue-and-yellow team earned six points — they beat Ireland in Dublin (1:0) and thrashed Armenia in Łódź (3:0). Today, our team met the Irish again at the LKS stadium.
Compared to the previous game, Oleksandr Petrakov made four changes in the starting lineup. Notably, Yarmolenko returned to the "starting eleven," and Riznyk took over in goal — this was Dmitry's second match for the national team (it should be noted that on the eve of his career with the national team ended veteran Pyatov), while Pichalok and Yaremchuk were left out of the squad, as the latter

The first half was characterized by an even game and the Ukrainians' control of possession. On the 11th minute, Malinovs'kyi went for a shot from outside the penalty area — the goalkeeper saved it. The Irish responded with a header from Parrott off a cross from Knight that missed the target. On the 22nd minute, Mykolenko took advantage of a cross and fired from inside the box, but Kelleher was equal to the task.
Midway through the first half, our team faced some setbacks. First, due to an injury, Malinovs'kyi was replaced by Mudryk. And on the 31st minute, Collins intercepted a pass from Dovbik, ran down the middle past several defenders and scored past Riznyk.

Before halftime, the Ukrainians only managed an inaccurate shot from Karavaev after a pass from Mudryk. Riznyk made a fantastic save on Knight's long-range effort.
However, the blue-and-yellow team drew conclusions from their poor first half and immediately scored after halftime. A quick counter-attack by the hosts ended with Yarmolenko's cross to Dovbik, who calmly put the ball into the net.

However, there was a lack of precision in the actions of our footballers, which the Irish took advantage of. Parrott missed with his shot, and Riznyk saved from Knight's effort. The Ukrainians responded with Mykolenko's cross that no one could finish off. Later, Gurihan fired over the bar.
Towards the end of the match, the blue-and-yellow team had more possession but were physically drained. Both teams created few chances, so the game ended in a draw. 1:1. Despite this, Oleksandr Petrakov's wards maintained their group lead.

This concludes the June training camp for the blue-and-yellow team. Our team will continue their path in the Nations League with three matches scheduled for September of this year.
