Forward of Lisbon's "Benfica" and Ukraine national team Roman Yaremchuk commented on the League of Nations match against Armenia and the upcoming game with Ireland.
In his second match in this season's League of Nations, the Ukrainian national team secured a convincing victory over Armenia (3:0). The striker of the blue-and-yellow team Roman Yaremchuk shared his thoughts on this encounter.
"We expected that the Armenian national team would defend deeply, and there wouldn't be much space. In principle, we were prepared for this, but in the second half we found a moment and broke through their defense, scoring a goal. And the small number of opportunities is connected precisely with the fact that there was little room.
We understood that we needed to score an early goal, then more space would open up. Overall 3:0, so everyone is happy. As for Malinovskiy's clean sheet, I think goals are not his job. His job is to lead the game and then take advantage of opportunities to score. He played a good match; he is one of the leaders in the national team. I congratulate him on his goal. Mykolenko scored his first goal and didn't know how to celebrate...
I think that with Ireland, we need to expect a tough game. The Irish are strong boys, many play in the Championship," — said Roman Yaremchuk.
We remind you that the match of the 4th round of the League of Nations between the national teams of Ukraine and Ireland will take place on June 14 in Łódź at the LKS Stadium named after Władysław Krul (kick-off - 9:45 PM).
