The Ukrainian youth team is awaiting today's U-21 Euro 2023 qualifying match against France.

The meeting will start at 7:45 PM Istanbul time at the "Esenyurt Nedim Kadioglu" arena, where local team "İstanbulspor" plays (capacity of 4,500 spectators). Entry for spectators is free. The live broadcast will take place on channel «Football 1» and the YouTube channel of the UAF.

The main part of the work of the Ukrainian youth team's coaching staff ahead of tomorrow's match against France was devoted to recovery and theory. As for personnel issues, four players are still in the infirmary — all defenders: Arseniy Batagov, Roman Didik, Oleksandr Drambajev, and Dmitro Kapinus. All others are ready and preparing for a serious challenge. Our team is eager to take revenge on the tricolors after their humiliating defeat in the first round (0:5).

It's worth noting the increased attention from French media representatives towards the Ukrainian youth team, who came to the hotel to talk with our footballers and were also present at the pre-match training session of Ruslan Rotan's team. This interest is primarily related to what is happening in Ukraine.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian youth team cannot fall below second place and has secured a spot in the playoffs. However, blue-and-yellow have a chance to become the best of the runners-up or even take first place, although this is purely theoretical (if they win both matches with a score of 6:0 or better).

In the current ranking of second-place teams, Ruslan Rotan's wards are currently in third position. To count on a lucky ticket from the runners-up spot, they need to beat France and hope for an unfavorable outcome in Group I — Denmark must lose points in one of their two home matches against Turkey and Scotland. However, even with the maximum score by Danes, there is still a chance to qualify when considering the overall goal difference.

We remind you that 16 teams will participate in the final stage of Euro 2023 (U-21) — Romania and Georgia as hosts of the tournament and another 14 national teams joining them based on qualifying results (nine group winners, the best team among runners-up, and four playoff winners).
