The opponent was a team that unexpectedly ended up in fourth place in Group N's table and, more importantly, had not lost at home yet this cycle, including against France.

From the first minutes, Ukraine's national team seized the initiative and began to storm the hosts' possession, but the ball stubbornly refused to go into the goal. For example, Sich hit the frame (by the way, he later did it again). The far defender of "Ruh" was one of the most active in the first 45 minutes. And he became the author of the assist for Bondarenko's opening goal.

The blues and yellows went into halftime with a comfortable lead. Supryaga finally scored his long-awaited goal. And if we talk about statistics, then in the first half our team delivered seven more shots on target than their opponents (14:2).

The second half did not change the situation on the field. The players coached by Ruslan Rotan continued to break down their opponent's defense. And when Vovcharenko, after a pass from Viyunyk, doubled the score in the 54th minute, the fate of this meeting was decided. But the Ukrainians did not stop there and, on the 62nd minute, Sudakov scored the fourth goal.

The success on the islands allowed our team to strengthen its position and get closer to the leader — France. We remind you that in the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-21), 16 teams will participate — Romania and Georgia as hosts, plus another 14 national teams joining them based on qualification results (nine group winners, the best team among second-placed sides, and four playoff winners).

Rotan's wards still have three matches to play in the group. The home games against North Macedonia and France will be played on June 5th and 9th at the Esenyurt Nedim Kadioglu Arena in Istanbul, where the local club "Istanbulspor" plays (it holds up to 4,500 spectators). The first match starts at 8:45 PM (local time matches with Kyiv time). The kickoff against France is scheduled for 2:45 PM.

The game Armenia — Ukraine will take place on June 12th at the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium (kickoff at 1:00 PM Kyiv time).
