Today, June 1st, Ukraine's youth national team will continue their qualifying tournament for the European Championship with a match against the Faroe Islands. The game at Torshavn Stadium in Torshavn starts at 8 PM Kyiv time.

The team under Ruslan Rotan began preparations on May 17th in Turkey. During this period, the blue-and-yellow side played a friendly match against Istanbul's national team (7-1) and also held an intra-squad scrimmage.

Our youth team departed for the Faroe Islands on May 30th. With a layover in Copenhagen, the journey took nearly 15 hours. Upon arrival in Torshavn, Ivan Zhelezko, representing Latvia's Valmiera, joined the squad after playing a match for his club on May 28th. Oleksandr Drambeyev returned to action following an injury, but unfortunately, the team suffered another loss when Arseniy Batagov sustained an injury that will prevent him from participating in four upcoming group stage matches.

On Tuesday afternoon, ahead of the match, Ruslan Rotan's wards conducted a pre-match training session on the artificial turf at Torshavn Stadium where today’s game is set to take place. This is the country's central venue, home to Faroe Islands' national team as well. In the evening, theoretical sessions were held for the team.

It should be noted that all proceeds from ticket sales at Torshavn will be donated to a fund supporting Ukraine.
