Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 24, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The ninety-day heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion has begun.

The enemy continues to conduct offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone. The adversary is carrying out intense artillery fire along the entire line of contact and deep into our defense areas in the Donetsk, Slovozhensk, and Southern Bug operational districts. The highest level of combat activity is observed in the Donetsk operational district, specifically near Lysychansk and Severodonetsk.

In the Volyn and Polesie directions units of the armed forces of the republic of Belarus continue to perform tasks related to covering the Belarus-Ukraine border area in the Brest and Gomel regions.

The threat of missile and aviation strikes against objects of our state from the territory of the republic of Belarus is increasing. The aggressor has moved a division of OTRK "Iskander-M" to the Brest region, within 50 km of Ukraine's state border.

In the Northern direction the enemy continues to conduct measures aimed at reinforcing coverage of the Ukrainian-Russian border area in the Bryansk and Kursk regions and preventing our troops from redeploying to other directions. Engineering equipment was noted in positions near the international automobile checkpoint "Pogar" and the populated area of Sluchovsk, Bryansk region.

The enemy carried out an aviation strike on the positions of our forces in the vicinity of the populated area of Bilepyllya, Sumy region.

In the Kharkiv direction the enemy grouping is concentrating its efforts on maintaining occupied positions and improving tactical positioning. In particular, the enemy is conducting assault operations aimed at consolidating in the western and northern outskirts of the populated area of Terovo.

In the Slovyansk direction enemy units are preparing for a renewed offensive. The aggressor has deployed additional artillery subunits in the southern part of Izium city to support offensive operations.

In the Donetsk direction the enemy is concentrating on conducting an offensive operation aimed at encircling the cities of Lysychansk and Severodonetsk with further advance into the administrative border of the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction it cannot be ruled out that the enemy will force the Siverskyi Donets river on the section Dronivka — Bihorivka. For cover fire during the crossing, the aggressors have deployed subunits of rocket and artillery forces.

In the Severodonetsk direction under artillery support, the enemy is conducting assault operations towards Tochkivka and Ustynivka.

In the Bakhmut direction the enemy has improved tactical positioning in the vicinity of the populated area of Vasilivka.

In the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Novopavlivka directions the enemy carried out artillery strikes on our subunits using artillery and aviation.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction occupiers are reinforcing military groupings to renew offensive operations towards Vasilivka — Kamianske. They are redeploying forces.

In the Southern Bug direction the enemy continues to concentrate main efforts on maintaining occupied lines.

In the Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv directions the enemy does not cease artillery shelling of our forces' positions.

In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones there have been no significant changes in the situation.

The enemy continues to use terror tactics against Ukrainian civilian populations in occupied territories, worsening socio-economic conditions in Southern and Eastern Ukraine.

Over the past day, sixteen enemy attacks were repelled on the Donetsk and Luhansk directions, eight tanks, twenty-two units of armored combat vehicles, and one enemy vehicle were destroyed.

Aviation subunits of air forces and anti-aircraft defense of ground troops destroyed six UAVs, an enemy cruise missile, and thirty armored combat vehicles.
