After the press conference in Slovenian Bled, featuring head coach of the blue-and-yellow team Oleksandr Petrakov and defensive midfielder Taras Stepanenko, an open training session took place for our national team. 20 players continued to work on passing and ball control techniques.
Defender of Kyiv's "Dynamo" Oleksandr Syrota shared his impressions from the training process in Slovenia.
"I'm very happy to be back with the national team. We know that an important task lies ahead, and we are already starting to prepare for it. Today we had another intra-squad match, but unlike yesterday when I was on the winning side, this time I wasn't. But tomorrow, hopefully, things will be different."
"We think about the Scotland game all the time. However, before that, there are friendly matches where we need to model how we'll play against the Scots. I'm in good physical shape largely thanks to the friendlies with 'Dynamo', but here too, a lot of work needs to be done."
"The Scottish team is physically very strong; their players cover many kilometers during the game. We understand that we're facing tough physical football and need to prepare for it. Of course, we constantly think about the situation in our country, but during training, we focus and concentrate on June 1st,"—said Oleksandr Syrota.
As a reminder, the match of the UEFA Nations League semi-final between Scotland and Ukraine will take place on June 1st at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
