Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 4, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The seventieth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion has begun.

The enemy continues to conduct offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone with the aim of establishing full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintaining a land corridor with temporarily occupied Crimea.

With the goal of destroying Ukraine's transportation infrastructure, the enemy carried out missile strikes on objects in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Zakarpattya, Odesa, and Donetsk regions.

On the Volyn and Polesie Directions, the enemy did not conduct active operations, no signs of forming offensive groupings were detected.

Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus continue to perform tasks for covering the Ukrainian-Belarusian border area in Brest and Homyel regions.

To check readiness for assigned tasks, one rocket battalion from the 465th Rocket Brigade of the Armed Forces of Belarus is moving from its permanent stationing point to the designated area.

On the Northern Direction, no signs of the enemy forming an offensive grouping were detected. Within reinforcing border security in areas around automobile checkpoints "Novyy Yurkivychi", "Pogar" and "Lomakovka" in Bryansk region, units of the Armed Forces of Russia from the Central Military District have been deployed.

On the Slobozhansky Direction, the enemy shelled the city of Kharkiv and populated area Protopylovka with artillery and mortars. Conducted aerial reconnaissance in the vicinity of populated areas Kutyuzhivka and Oleksandrivka, Barvinkivsky district, Kharkiv region. The enemy attempted to conduct offensive operations towards populated area Dolgenkove but was unsuccessful.

On the Donetsk and Tavriysky Directions, with the aim of restraining our forces, occupiers are conducting artillery strikes on our units.

On the Lyman Direction, the enemy is conducting offensive operations towards populated area Shandrigolove, combat actions continue. The enemy is reinforcing its troops and has intensified aerial reconnaissance.

Occupants carried out assault operations in the vicinity of Popasna, combat actions are ongoing.

In Mariupol, Russian occupiers continue to carry out air strikes and conduct artillery fire on our positions near "Azovstal" plant.

On the Zaporizhzhya Direction, the enemy conducted assault operations towards populated area Orikhiv but was unsuccessful.

In Gorlivka, over 100 bodies of mobilized servicemen from the First Army Corps who died in Zaporizhzhya region were delivered to the central morgue.

On the South Buzky Direction, with the aim of destroying our fortification equipment, the enemy used artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and tank armament along the entire line of contact. Intensified combat actions in the vicinity of populated area Tomina Balka.

On the Bessarabian Direction, the situation remains tense but under control.

Over the previous day, units of air defense and ground forces neutralized seven UAVs and eight cruise missiles of the enemy; data is being verified.

In Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, twelve attacks by the enemy were repelled, six tanks, five artillery systems (three of them multiple rocket launchers), fifteen units of armored combat vehicles, and nine units of motorized equipment of the enemy were destroyed. There are also losses on other fronts for the enemy. We will announce general figures in a separate report somewhat later.
