Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 08.04.2022 regarding the Russian invasion into our country.

The forty-fourth day has begun of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion.

The armed forces of the Russian Federation continue their military aggression against Ukraine. The enemy is preparing for an offensive on the eastern part of Ukraine.

Main efforts by Russian oppressors are still focused on capturing Mariupol, advancing in the Izium area, breaking through the defense lines of the Joint Forces Group on the Donetsk front. On the South-Bug direction, the enemy is trying to prevent our troops from advancing.

The armed forces of the Republic of Belarus are conducting operational and combat preparations at training grounds across the country. Up to four battalion tactical groups have been mobilized for tasks related to reinforcing security along the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

There remains a possibility that rocket and aviation strikes from the territory of the Republic of Belarus will be carried out against military and civilian infrastructure targets in Ukraine.

According to available information, so-called «volunteers» are being recruited among Belarusians for new units of a private military company. Information is being verified.

The enemy has completed the restoration of combat readiness of units in the Central Military District in areas of Bryansk and Kursk regions.

Certain subunits from the 6th, 20th Combined Arms Armies, 1st Tank Army, Baltic and Northern Fleet coastal troops are conducting operational deployment measures. The main focus is on restoring railway sections from the city of Kupyansk to cities Kharkiv, Izium, and Svatove. For this purpose, subunits of the Western Military District's 38th Separate Railway Brigade from Yaroslavl have been mobilized.

On the Kharkiv front, the enemy continues to block the city of Kharkiv. To prevent our troops from advancing, oppressors are setting up mine-explosive barriers.

In temporarily occupied Izium, representatives of so-called «DNR» are performing local police functions, conducting illegal document checks, searches of individuals and premises of the local population.

Subunits of occupying forces are concentrating efforts on taking control of populated areas Popasna, Rubizhne, and establishing control over Mariupol city. Offensive actions continue on most fronts.

The enemy does not cease to deliver air strikes and shell civilian infrastructure, including with the use of multiple rocket launch systems. Such activity has been recorded in areas around populated places Kremennaya, Severodonetsk, Novotoshkivske, Popasna, Novozavodsk, Suhyye Balky, Novoselivka Second, Stepne, Troitskoye, Novobakhmutivka, Marinka and Solodyne.

In areas around populated places Rubizhne, Popasna, Nyzhnii, Novotoshkivske, Zolote and Borovskoe, occupiers attempted to carry out offensive actions but were unsuccessful.

On the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day, seven enemy attacks were repelled, four tanks, two artillery systems, ten units of armored vehicles, and eleven — motorized equipment of the enemy were destroyed.

Aviation of Air Forces continued to deliver strikes on enemy troop concentrations.
