Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 6, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The forty-second day has begun of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military invasion.

The Russian Federation continues its full-scale armed aggression against our state. The main efforts of the enemy are focused on preparing for an offensive operation aimed at establishing complete control over the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

There remains a threat of the enemy using missile weapons from maritime, air, and ground-based platforms. Occupants inflict artillery strikes on objects of the defense complex, logistical infrastructure, and residential areas in cities.

At the same time, the enemy is trying to improve its tactical position on the South Buzhsky direction. It cannot be ruled out that the territory of the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian-Moldovan Republic will be used to support an offensive operation in this sector. Preparations for receiving aircraft are being carried out at the Tiraspol airfield.

The enemy does not give up attempts to involve mercenaries from other countries into combat operations against Ukraine, in order to replenish its losses in manpower. At the same time, the use of mercenaries will have little impact on the course of military actions due to their small number.

The command of the 200th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade (Pechenga Murmansk Region) of the 14th Army Corps, from which two battalion tactical groups were involved in the war with Ukraine, is preparing servicemen for replenishment. According to available information, the brigade's losses in manpower amount to approximately 30%. One battalion tactical group has been destroyed, and another one — withdrawn to a recovery area in Belgorod Region.

On the Volynsky direction, there are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups. The units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to perform tasks for covering the Ukrainian-Belarusian border sector.

On the Polesky direction, the occupiers did not carry out active actions. Part of the enemy's units, which were withdrawn from this sector, are located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Recovery measures continue, likely aimed at their regrouping and reinforcing other groups. It cannot be ruled out that some Russian military units will remain in the territory of the Republic of Belarus to tie down the actions of Ukrainian defense forces and prevent them from redeploying to other sectors. Another purpose is to provide assistance to the Republic of Belarus in covering part of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

On the Northern direction, the enemy's occupation units are being restored, which were previously withdrawn to Bryansk and Kursk Regions of the Russian Federation.

On the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continues to block the city of Kharkiv and carries out artillery strikes on its separate areas.

According to available information, losses of the 236th Artillery Brigade of the 20th Combined Arms Army amount to approximately 20% of manpower and armaments. This has significantly reduced the intensity of brigade actions.

On the Iziumsky direction, the occupiers do not give up attempts to create an offensive group and continue advancing towards populated areas of Sloviansk and Barvinove.

On the Donetsk direction, the enemy is trying to improve the tactical position of its units. It continues storming in the areas of populated places Popasna, Stepne, Novotoshkivske, Rubizhnoe, Severodonetsk and Solodke. No success.

Russian occupiers continue actively using weapons banned by international humanitarian law. They do not give up attempts to storm Mariupol. Defenders of the city have been holding a heroic defense for over forty days, restraining overwhelming forces of Russian invaders' units.

On the Tavriysky direction, in the area of populated place Basan, movements of separate units from the 58th Combined Arms Army were recorded, likely aimed at regrouping forces.

On the South Buzhsky direction, the enemy is taking measures to restore combat readiness and carrying out engineering work on positions. It continues terrorizing civilian population in temporarily occupied territories of Kherson Region.

As a result of offensive actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy lost control over populated places Dobrianka, Novovosennenske and Trudolyubivka. Fighting is ongoing in the area of populated place Oleksandrivka.

By the Air Force units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 8 cruise missiles were destroyed during the previous day. Aviation continued supporting actions of ground forces of defense and carried out air strikes on enemy troops.
