After the match against England, the head coach of Ukraine's women's national team commented on Nicol Kozlova's injury, assessed the performance of the team and spoke about the preparation for the next match against Spain.

— Before the game with England, you wanted to see courage and a desire to enjoy the game. Was this reflected in the actions of the team?

— Yes, I am really proud of the girls. Could we have played better? Yes. Could we have made fewer mistakes? Yes. But that's all part of football. What's important is that they believed in themselves. At some point, the girls even got satisfaction from the fact that such a strong team could not break through their defense — I saw that. Someone might say that the English just weren't sharp in the first half. Maybe. But our girls with their self-sacrifice at every moment forced them to make mistakes.

— Comment on Nicol Kozlova's injury. How did this affect the team's morale?

— Nicol is a very important player for us. We all understand the severity of her injury, but we know that Nik is strong and will return to us even stronger and more powerful. Right now, we are all with her, supporting her. We wish her strength and patience because the road back to the field will be long. But we will stay in touch and support her as much as possible.

— What are the main aspects of preparation for the match against Spain?

— In my opinion, Spain has an even more powerful attacking arsenal. Therefore, naturally, we focus on defense and counterattacks. It's very hard — both physically and mentally — to play matches against the two best teams in the world over four days. But I tell the team: if we want to progress, we have to improve our game regardless of the level of the opponent and the tight schedule.
