Today, adidas and the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) present a new exclusive national team jersey for Ukraine. The team will wear this jersey in qualification matches against France and Iceland on November 13 and 16 for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The design combines modernity with deep historical symbols of statehood.

The new design was created through a reinterpretation of elements from the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People's Republic, which in 1918 was designed by artist and architect Vasyl Krychevsky. He took inspiration from Prince Vladimir the Great’s trident, while the stylized olive wreath around it symbolized the peace-loving nature of the Ukrainian People's Republic. adidas interpreted this ornament in a contemporary graphic solution to highlight Ukraine's cultural legacy across generations, as well as the strength, dignity, and desire for freedom of the Ukrainian people.

Igor Marinich, Director adidas Ukraine:
“It's important for us that the jersey of the Ukrainian national team has its own voice — in design and meaning. We were inspired by fundamental symbols of statehood in Ukraine and embodied them in a contemporary aesthetic. This is an exclusive kit designed specifically for our country. We are proud of this. Such projects show how national identity becomes part of global football culture.”

The entire line is designed with the highest performance requirements in mind — to support world-class players during decisive moments and help adapt to different climatic conditions of three host countries. For matches in hot weather, elastic fabrics with the latest CLIMACOOL+ technology are used, which quickly wick away moisture and keep the body dry. Perforated stripes with three adidas bands guarantee maximum ventilation, while strategically placed mesh inserts on the fabric and embellishments provide optimal airflow even under the most extreme climatic conditions. The collection also features a new lenticular adidas logo printed using thermal transfer technology that creates an effect of changing form — making the logo look different depending on the angle.

Thomas Haessler, Vice President of Design adidas Football:
“Creating a collection for the FIFA World Cup 2026, we aimed to combine each country's unique identity with innovation and performance. Each design tells a story — blending cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics — and is created using the latest technologies that help players feel comfortable and confident on the world’s biggest football stage. From striking visual details and lenticular logos to ventilation systems — this collection embodies the future of football kit design.”

The partnership between adidas and UAF unites a common goal — the development of Ukrainian football and support for the national team on its path to new victories.
Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association:
“Every new match is an opportunity to show the world who we are and what Ukrainians are. This jersey was created with respect for Ukraine's thousand-year history, its centuries-long search for a place in the world and its own path. This ornament is a reminder that both at the beginning of the 20th century and today, Ukrainians choose the right to their own statehood. We thank adidas for the partnership that helps our players feel confident on and off the pitch.”
