Today, September 9th, the Ukraine U-18 national team (players born in 2008 or later) played their last match at an international tournament in Sweden.

After a crushing victory over Norway (6:1) in their first game, the blue and yellow team defeated the hosts — the Swedish team (2:0). Today, however, the opponents were the Danes, who also had two wins at the tournament. Thus, today's match determined the winner of the competition.

The first half was dominated by a noticeable advantage for the Scandinavian team, which created at least five goal-scoring opportunities in our net. Unfortunately for the blue and yellows, this dominance led to a goal in the 13th minute. The opponent received a free kick on the penalty box line, and Nicolás Hammelgard masterfully placed the ball into the back of the net.

After halftime, the players under Vladimir Samborsky became more active, but at the 57-minute mark, our goalkeeper brought down an attacker from Denmark while coming out to challenge him. Jacob Ambak confidently converted the penalty kick. The third goal went in for the blue and yellows on the 73rd minute: Darami was left alone in their penalty area and calmly beat Tkachenko.

So, 0:3 — a defeat for the Ukrainian team, which secured second place at the tournament.
