In Kyiv at the stadium of Taras Shevchenko National University, one of the most prestigious veteran tournaments in Ukraine took place — a championship among players aged 45+, dedicated to the memory of prominent footballer and coach Oleg Bazilevich. This is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association.

The winner was a newcomer to competitions under the auspices of the UFVA — FC "Kyiv". In second place finished FC "Syraї" (Chernihiv region), in third place — "Agrobiznes" (Khmelnytskyi region).

The tournament was organized by the Ukrainian Football Veterans Association, TOV "Agrobiznes", and the Sobuts'ky Family Charitable Foundation with support from the Ukrainian Football Association.

Among the guests of honor were USSR Footballer of the Year in 1966, Vice President of the UFVA Andriy Biba, Dynamo player and winner of the Cup Winners' Cup and runner-up at Euro 1988 Volodymyr Bezsonov, as well as Oleg Bazilevich's son — renowned artist, screenwriter, writer, now serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Bazilevich Jr. Due to mission duties on the frontline, Colonel Oleh Sobuts'ky, founder of the national team of Ukraine among veterans, was absent. On his behalf, all teams, fans, and honored guests were greeted with wishes for a swift end to the war and victory for Ukraine.

The best player was Sergiy Panchenko (FC "Kyiv"), the Sobuts'ky Family Charitable Foundation's award for loyalty to football went to team organizer and coach Mykola Horbach, the best goalkeeper was Stanislav Tyshchenko (FC "Kyiv"), the audience favorite prize from TOV "Agrobiznes" was received by Eduard Tychmeistruck ("Agrobiznes"), author of the most beautiful goal — Serhiy Shveț ("Syraї"), and the best coach was revealed to be Sergiy Plytenya ("Piryatin-Poltava Region").
