Vladyslav Vanat: "Thanks to the fans for their support, and I hope to keep it going"

Ukraine's national team forward Vladyslav Vanat was named the Man of the Match in the second round of the 2024/2025 Nations League game against Czechia (2:3).

Vanat received 34% of the fan votes. In the match, the forward scored his debut goal for Ukraine. After the game, he shared his thoughts on the performance:

"I'm happy to have scored my first goal for Ukraine, but it would have felt better if we had won. Thanks to the fans for their support, and I hope to keep this going. Regarding the match itself, if we had played in the first half like we did in the second, things would have gone much better. Unfortunately, we have what we have.

I can't say it was very hard to battle against the physically strong Czech team. Yes, we were smaller in terms of physique, but we scored two goals with headers. This is football, and size doesn't matter as much. It's about the fight, and everyone has a chance.

Our second half gave us confidence because we played much better than in the first. I'd also like to highlight our fans in the stands. It felt like there were as many of them as there were Czech supporters. A big thanks to them," said Vladyslav Vanat.

Ukraine's next Nations League match will take place on October 11 in Poznań against Georgia.
