Dmytro Mykhailenko: "Our goal for this Euro remains unchanged. We will be a threat to any team..."

Head coach of the Ukraine U-19 team, Dmytro Mykhailenko, commented on the 0:0 draw in their second group stage match of EURO-2024 (U-19) against Norway.

"I can’t say that we are completely satisfied with the performance. Today was challenging because Norway has already started their season, and their players are in good match fitness, while we have been working in training mode for some time. We knew that we would have to endure for the first half hour, and all the players — both in defense and attack — worked hard to overcome the opponent’s press. We are not used to this pace, so it was crucial to perform well in every area of the field and close down spaces effectively.

In the second half, it became easier for us. We created chances and had good opportunities to score, but we didn’t convert them.

Regarding Oharkov's injury — he felt some muscle pain, and we decided not to take any risks and replaced him.

Our goal for this Euro remains unchanged. We will be a threat to any team and always ready to play for victory. But first, we need to recover well and get our injured players, such as Synchuk and Oharkov, back in shape. After that, we will prepare for the match against Italy," Mykhailenko noted.
