Oleksandr Kosenko: "All teams qualified for World Cup have their strengths"
On May 26th, the final tournament draw of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup with the participation of the Ukrainian national team took place on the main square of Samarkand–Registan, in Uzbekistan.
The final tournament of the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, scheduled from September 14th to October 6th, will be held in three cities of Uzbekistan – Andijan, Bukhara, and Tashkent.
During the draw, 24 teams were divided into six groups of four participants each according to the FIFA Futsal rankings. The top two teams from each quartet and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the playoffs. Following this matches for the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place playoff, and the final will occur.
The Ukrainian team was placed in Group C, where they will face teams from Argentina, Afghanistan, and Angola. The schedule for the blue- yellows in the final tournament has also been determined.
Commenting on the draw for the press service of the Futsal Association of Ukraine, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Oleksandr Kosenko, evaluated the results:
"We will prepare for each team. All teams that have qualified for the World Cup have their strengths. Therefore, we will prepare for each opponent; no one can be ranked higher or lower. This is the World Cup, so we accept the draw as it is."

Our team secured their qualification in December of last year after defeating Poland (5:3) in the elite round of qualification. Oleksandr Kosenko's charges topped their group and received a direct ticket to the World Cup. Alongside Ukraine, European tickets were also secured by Kazakhstan, France, Spain, and Portugal. Two more lucky teams were determined later, after the playoff matches, in which the Netherlands defeated Finland, while Croatia beat Poland.
