Euro 2024 (U-17): Today, Ukraine's youth national team will play a decisive qualifying match
Today, the Ukrainian youth team (players born in 2007 or later) will conclude their competition in the elite round of Euro 2024 qualifying for under-17 players with a match against Slovakia.

Today, the Ukraine youth team (players born no later than 2007) will conclude their battle in the elite round of qualification for Euro-2024 among under-17 players with a match against Slovakia.
Earlier in Group 4, the blue-and-yellow team defeated Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0). Today at 3 PM Kyiv time, our team will play against Slovakian counterparts in the Greek city of Patras.
Both teams have six points each, but Ukraine's youth squad has better additional indicators. Therefore, for securing first place in the group and a direct ticket to Euro-2024 (U-17), it will be enough for Yuri Moroz's wards to draw.
The team that secures second place in the group also has good chances of advancing to the final tournament, as seven out of eight best second-placed teams qualify (matches of the elite round end on March 26). The criteria are:
— a greater number of points;
— better goal difference;
— more goals scored;
— fewer disciplinary points from yellow and red cards received by players and officials of the teams (red card — three points, yellow card — one point, expulsion for two yellow cards in a single match — three points);
— higher position in the coefficient ranking of the qualifying round.

Recall that the draw for the elite round split 32 teams into eight groups. At stake are 15 spots in the final stage, which will take place from May 20 to June 5, 2024 on Cyprus. Eight group winners and seven second-placed teams with the best results will advance to the finals based on March matches. The host country also qualifies.

Recall that last year under the leadership of Volodymyr Yezersky blue-and-yellow secured third place in their group in the qualifying round and advanced further based on a third-place ranking.
