President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about three international talks with the Emir of Kuwait, King of Bahrain, and Emir of Qatar, as well as the necessity to eliminate any possible sanction evasion schemes by the aggressor.
"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!
A brief report for today.
Three international talks today. First with the Emir of Kuwait. I thanked him for supporting our country's independence and territorial integrity. I informed about the situation with Russian terror — constant missile strikes, drone attacks on our cities and villages. Assured that despite everything Ukraine will remain one of the donors to global food security and stability in general. We consistently support international law and appreciate all efforts by partners who help us and thereby contribute to their own security.
Also spoke today with the King of Bahrain. Of course, significant attention was given to protecting basic principles of international relations, issues of stability. I thanked him for his representative's participation in previous meetings regarding the Peace Formula and invited them to participate in an upcoming meeting planned soon in Davos.
Later today spoke with the Emir of Qatar, and especially important for me was the topic of freeing our captives. The mediation by Qatar has already proven effective, and I am grateful for their readiness to continue cooperation to bring more Ukrainians home from Russian captivity — adults and children alike. Naturally, we also discussed work on the Peace Formula and organizing a future peace summit involving most of the world. Thanked Qatar for supporting our humanitarian initiative "Grain from Ukraine" and efforts in general regarding the protection of peaceful navigation in the Black Sea. That we have restored civilian ship traffic through the Black Sea despite Russia's attempts to block it — proves that we can defend ourselves against all other manifestations of Russian aggression against our country, against normal life for all countries around the world who value life and people.
Held today a meeting regarding our further international work — this month will be rich in terms of our foreign policy. Many steps are ahead, and I am confident that we can strengthen our state. Our PPO. Our work with partners on drones. And also regarding sanctions against Russia — those already applied... It is crucial to eliminate any possible sanction evasion schemes. We are working on new sanctions as well: the architecture of pressure on Russia must be strengthened. Another priority task is to bring real solutions for using in Ukraine's interests and eventually confiscating Russian assets to restore justice. The terrorist must pay most for damage caused by terrorism, and Russia will.
Currently, emergency rescue operations are still ongoing in three regions of Ukraine following Russian army attacks: Donetsk, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi. I am grateful to all rescuers, police officers, municipal workers involved.
Today's morning once again, unfortunately, started with a massive missile attack. Kharkiv and the region, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi oblast. 45 people were injured, and as of now four deaths are known. My condolences to loved ones... The state-terrorist will inevitably feel our response.
I thank everyone around the world who helps Ukraine! I thank all in Ukraine who care for their neighbors and for our entire country! Glory to our soldiers!
Glory to Ukraine!"
