President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about massive missile strikes by the aggressor during the New Year period and about the work of our representatives abroad to supply additional air defense systems and ammunition for them.

"Dear Ukrainians,

These days, many regions of our country, various cities and villages, districts - both border areas and near the front lines, as well as throughout the territory - have suffered from Russian shelling, massive missile strikes, and constant "shahed" drone attacks. Clearly, this New Year period at the end of last year and the first days of this year were used by the state-terrorist leadership to try breaking our spirit and reviving an old threat - the threat of destroying our energy infrastructure, the foundation of our life.

Our air defenders are doing everything possible to protect the country. The entire team of our diplomats, everyone responsible for communication with partners, Ukrainian representatives abroad are working 100% to ensure the supply of additional air defense systems and missiles for them. This is priority number one. Of course, exactly the same priority number one - this is new support packages for our soldiers. Artillery, especially caliber 155, REB equipment, new drones and other necessary items. Thank you to all our partners who are already forming new support packages. There will be a lot of relevant communication in this month.

But now, today, I want to highlight those who work day and night, through every holiday and under any conditions, everywhere in Ukraine for the liquidation of consequences of Russian strikes. Sumy, Chernihiv, Lviv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Kyiv, Dnipro and Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih and Orikhiv. Zaporizhzhia. Cities of Donetsk. Kherson region. Everywhere. Our rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Volunteers who help. Our police officers. Thank you to all of you whose work is to save people!

I want to especially highlight rescuers working in Kyiv: master sergeant Dmitro Tarasenko, sergeant Anton Dyachenko, chief master sergeant Andriy Shelyakov. Thank you, guys!
