President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about a major meeting with leaders of domestic defense companies and a series of meetings with ministers of our country.

"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians,

First of all - thank you to those who defend our skies. Over the past evening and night, out of 46 "shaheds," most were shot down. A significant result. A result that proves daily the correctness of our actions, our communication with partners: Ukrainian PPO, our mobile artillery groups, our anti-aircraft troops are protecting the country. And we are already quite actively planning January and February - international events that will strengthen Ukraine's power. We are working on new defense packages.

Today I held a major meeting with leaders of Ukrainian defense companies — more than 100 enterprises in the sector were represented. Of course, this is far from everyone. But those who make very strong things, those who managed to be here today in Kyiv. I honored company leaders and - through them - their collectives, which did the most.

Overall, our defense industry already employs nearly 300 thousand people, and this is one of the greatest achievements of our country in recent years. The Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is not just being restored — it's becoming so productive that it's needed for modern technological warfare. Many private initiatives are already underway: four out of five companies in our OPK - this is private business. Many state enterprises, which had been idle for decades, have now resumed production, including new types of weapons.

For next year we have absolutely clear goals regarding artillery, and drones, and missiles, and armored vehicles. One of the biggest political achievements of this year — is an agreement with partners, especially with the United States, about our joint production of arms. Creating new manufacturing facilities. Localization in Ukraine. Expanding repair bases. All this adds strength to Ukraine's defense and economic power: it's GDP growth - significant - and good jobs. I am grateful to everyone who develops this sector, all those who invest their work and ideas into the development of Ukrainian OPK. And I am confident that our 'defense industry' — given such continuous development — will surely enter the top-10 most productive and powerful defense complexes in the world over time. This is Ukraine's true potential, and our country can definitely become one of the global security donors and one of the strongest NATO participants. We are working towards this.

I also held a series of meetings with ministers today. The head of the National Bank of Ukraine and the minister of finance — issues for next year. A meeting with the defense minister.

Also, a meeting with the interior minister. Report on yesterday's Russian strike in Kherson: unfortunately, one police officer was killed - Lieutenant Igor Misyunia, Kirovohrad Regional Police Directorate. My condolences to his family... Four people were injured, two of them - young police officers, all received necessary assistance. All services are working on restoring power supply in Kherson. Yesterday 70% of the city remained without electricity. Critical infrastructure was switched to generators. Normal operations are gradually being restored. Gas supply to Kherson has been restored.

The interior minister also reported about the work of the entire MVS system. Response to emergencies, territorial demining, equipping our National Guard and Police units fighting on the front line with weapons and equipment.

And by the way, I would like to honor police officers who have dedicated themselves to serving the state and society, along with all those in Ukraine's Defense Forces and Security Services protecting the country at the front. Especially - soldiers of the National Police Brigade "Lut." Policeman Vitaliy Melnychuk, police corporal Andriy Molochnyi, senior sergeant Dmitro Hanyenko, junior lieutenant Bohdan Horuk, lieutenant Oleksandr Pyatnychuk, senior lieutenants Oleksandr Gladyr and Ivan Krotov, and police captain Mykhailo Glavatsky. Thank you, boys, for your exemplary service in battle!

Of course, today my congratulations and our collective gratitude to all the staff of counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine - this is their professional day. A unit that works 24/7, whose work — is the state's peace and society's protection from various enemy espionage networks. This year was successful for counterintelligence. Thank you for this, boys!

Glory to all who fight and work for Ukraine! Glory to our people!

Glory to Ukraine!"
