Today, on October 15, the Ukrainian youth team (players born in 2007 or later) will start their competition in the qualification round of Euro-2024 (U-17).

The blue and yellow team has been drawn into Group 3 along with Germany, Finland, and Liechtenstein. The mini-tournament will take place from October 15 to 21 in Liechtenstein (at the "Sportplatz Blumenau" stadium in Triesen and the "Sportpark Eschen-Mauren" in Eschen). To advance to the elite round of qualification, it is necessary to secure first or second place in the group. Additionally, five of the best third-placed teams from thirteen groups will also qualify.

“We carefully gathered information about the candidates. Some players were at the spring training camp, others — at the autumn one. However, the greatest emphasis was placed on those performers who have more playing experience. Moreover, many of our boys play abroad, and it's not easy to keep track of them.

The German and Finnish teams are very strong in this age category. It will be difficult. Nevertheless, I believe in my team, which will do everything possible to qualify for the elite round”, — noted the head coach of Ukraine's youth team, Volodymyr Yezersky, ahead of the tournament in Liechtenstein.

Matches at this stage will take place in March 2024. They will determine 15 teams that join Cyprus in the final tournament, which will run from May 20 to June 5.
