President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the work to clarify details regarding Ukrainians who found themselves in areas of combat and shelling in Israel, and the need to protect people and life from any manifestations of terrorism.
"Dear Ukrainians,
Today I spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. I expressed condolences over the numerous losses caused by terrorist attacks. The prime minister informed about the situation as it stands now and the actions of Israel's defense and security forces.
There is full cooperation between the Ukrainian embassy and the police in Israel to clarify details regarding Ukrainians who found themselves in areas of combat and shelling. Sadly, the deaths of two citizens of Ukraine have been confirmed. My condolences go out to their loved ones...
The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel, all our diplomats overseeing this region, together with intelligence services, are working around the clock to help all our people who need assistance. There are already more than a hundred appeals to the embassy from our citizens. The whereabouts of five of our people have been established in southern Israel.
I once again appeal to all Ukrainian citizens in Israel: please be careful and follow instructions from local security forces.
It is very important that the entire world – everyone – does not remain indifferent to what has happened now, but reacts as firmly as possible.
Many were shocked by the audacity of the terrorist attack. The audacity and meticulous preparation. If terrorists can afford this, it means that it is a threat to more than one country. And next week we will work – together with our partners – for world unity against terrorism. Various international events are already planned. Ukraine's position will be heard as always in favor of unity and joint action.
Terror has already opened too many fronts against humanity. War against Ukraine. War on the Middle East. Horrifying destabilizations in Africa. Constant attempts to provoke a crisis on the world food market.
To be strong under such conditions is to stand up to terrorism. It's not enough to be a large country. Not enough to be wealthy. Not enough to have ambitions. To be strong – this means helping to protect people and life from any manifestations of terrorism. And that’s it. Help. Help.
And today, tonight, I want to thank those very people who save lives, who do everything so that terror loses.
Zaporizhzhia region. Civil Defense Service Captain Anatoliy Beznos, emergency medical service paramedic Yuliya Belyba, police captain Serhiy Khokholiak. Thank you!
Kherson region. Major of the Civil Defense Service Volodymyr Sergan, sergeant of the Civil Defense Service Mykola Silin, major of the police Oleksandr Skornyak, paramedic Vitaliy Rudakov. Thank you!
Kharkiv region. Master-sergeant of the Civil Defense Service Serhiy Osika, chief master-sergeant of the Civil Defense Service Oleksandr Nazaryko, paramedic Yana Fesenko. Thank you – and to all employees of Ukraine's State Emergency Service, National Police, our emergency services, and every doctor, every nurse who proves that terror cannot defeat life!
And, of course, our unbreakable soldiers. Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariupol directions... 58th Independent Motorized Brigade, 79th Independent Air Assault Brigade, 44th Independent Artillery Brigade. Just great guys, soldiers! I thank you for your resilience and the destruction of the occupier!
And also brigades that have successes in our offensive actions. Our "eighty" DSHB, 24th Independent Mechanized Brigade and 93rd Independent Mechanized Brigade "Cold River" – thank you!
Glory to all who fight and work for our country! Glory to our strong people, the people of Ukraine!
And I thank everyone who helps defeat terror!
Glory to Ukraine!"
