To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 6, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and ninety day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue to conduct defense operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction. They are destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions.

On October 5, Russian terrorist forces cynically carried out a missile strike on a civilian object in the village of Grozha, Kupyansk district, Kharkiv region. According to preliminary data, more than 50 civilians were killed as a result of targeted hits. Rescue operations are ongoing, and assistance is being provided to the injured.

During the past day, there were 37 combat engagements. In total, the enemy carried out three missile strikes, 65 air raids, and conducted 50 artillery attacks on both our positions and civilian objects in Ukraine. Additionally, Russia attacked Ukraine with 29 Shahed-136/131 attack drones from a southeast direction. Anti-aircraft defenses destroyed 24 enemy "Shaheds." Civilian housing and infrastructure suffered damage.

Air raids were carried out in Grabove, Sumy region; Ivanivka, Kislivka, Kharkiv region; Bihorlivka, Luhansk region; Spirne, Klitschivka, Ivano-Pillya, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskevivka, Urozhayne, Staromajorske, Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Robotyne, Zaporizhia region; Berislav, Cossack Kamianka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Kherson region.

More than 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the North and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our forces from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Hortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, occupiers did not conduct offensive actions.

On the Lyman direction, forces of defense repelled four enemy attacks in the vicinity east of Makieivka, Luhansk region.

On the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers were successful east of Andriyivka, Donetsk region. The enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions near eastern Dilyivka, Donetsk region. Forces of defense continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut, causing losses in manpower and equipment to the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiyivka and Mariinka directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Avdiyivka, Donetsk region. The enemy also carried out 14 failed attacks in areas around Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of populated points Zolotaya Niva and Vodyane, Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders are holding off aggressors near southeast Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

Forces of defense continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut direction. They are causing losses in manpower and equipment to occupation forces, consolidating on occupied positions, and exhausting the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers conduct counter-battery fire, destroy depots, and successfully target the rear of the enemy.

The number of Russian military personnel deserting or avoiding participation in combat operations on the territory of our country has increased among occupation forces. For example, in temporarily occupied Donetsk city, more than 60 Russian aggressors are stationed in one of the military units and are under investigation for leaving their posts without permission and refusing to perform service duties. Deserters will be directed to assault units without being recorded in unit personnel lists. Recording these individuals will only occur after they return from assault operations. The enemy command believes that such methods will reduce desertion cases and improve discipline among subordinate units.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on areas with concentrated manpower, weapons, and military equipment, and seven — on air defense missile systems of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops hit a communication node, an air defense missile system, a heavy mortar system, nine artillery systems, a propellant-materials depot, a radar station, and an electronic warfare station of the enemy.

In total, the enemy lost: 620 occupiers, 20 tanks, 30 armored combat vehicles, 23 artillery systems, two MLRS, 29 tactical drones, 35 vehicles, and three units of special equipment.
