To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10.00 on September 18, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and seventieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Russian occupiers continue to ignore international humanitarian law, carrying out not only attacks on Ukrainian positions but also strikes on civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents. Thus, yesterday the enemy inflicted another strike on Ukraine with cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 attack drones. As a result of combat operations by anti-aircraft defense units, six cruise missiles and six "Shaheds" were destroyed. Unfortunately, as a consequence of these terrorist acts by the Kremlin, there are casualties among civilians, damaged residential buildings, and damage to civilian infrastructure.

Moreover, at the beginning of today's day, Russian occupiers carried out a massive air-to-ground strike on civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast using cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Our defenders destroyed 18 attack drones and 17 cruise missiles.

Ukrainian defense forces continue to conduct defensive operations in the east and south of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy step by step, liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions.

Over the past day, more than 35 combat engagements took place. The enemy carried out 15 missile strikes and over 70 air raids, conducted 47 artillery attacks on our troops' positions and populated areas with multiple rocket launchers.

Air raids were suffered by Gorky, Pavlivka, Popivka in Sumy Oblast; Nadia in Luhansk Oblast; Terny, Torisky, Severnyy, Veselye, Andriyivka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromayorskoye in Donetsk Oblast; Verbove, Robotyne, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Otradokamyanka and Mykolaivka in Kherson Oblast.

Under artillery fire were about 80 populated areas in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Severnyy and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy continues to maintain covering forces along the state border. Conducts active sabotage activities in border areas with the aim of preventing our troops from moving into threatening sectors, increasing mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near White Mountain, Donetsk Oblast. The enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through our defense in the Andriyivka area, Donetsk Oblast. Defense forces continue offensive actions near Klyshchyovka, Donetsk Oblast, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Mariupol direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. Over the past day, the enemy made 10 unsuccessful attempts to drive our units from their positions here. At the same time, on the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, Ukrainian forces maintain initiative, pressuring the enemy, conducting offensive actions, and liberating our land.

On the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian forces continue offensive operations, inflicting significant losses on occupation troops in manpower and equipment, forcing the enemy to retreat from occupied positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odesa" on the Kherson direction, our soldiers conduct counter-battery fire, destroy supply depots, and inflict successful damage on the enemy's rear.

During the day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out nine strikes against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy.

Units of rocket forces inflicted two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy, two air defense missile systems, eleven artillery pieces, three ammunition depots, and a radar station of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day amounted to: 620 occupiers, three tanks, six armored combat vehicles, twenty-four artillery systems, two air defense means, twenty-seven tactical drones, seven cruise missiles, thirty-four vehicles, and five units of special equipment.
