President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about a meeting with government officials regarding our future strategy for protecting agreements and free trade in the EU and about a significant and very necessary result on the Bakhmut axis.

"I wish good health to all Ukrainians,

I had a conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The EU's restrictive measures against our agricultural exports have been lifted. It is important now that European unity works on a bilateral level - with neighbors. So that neighbors support Ukraine during wartime. Europe always wins when agreements work and promises are fulfilled. But if neighborly decisions turn out to be unneighborly, Ukraine will respond in a civilized manner.

I also held an extensive meeting with government officials regarding our future strategy for protecting agreements and free trade in the EU. By helping each other and defending our shared freedom in Europe, including economic freedom, we strengthen everyone in Europe. And this is especially important now, given the genocidal aggression unleashed by Russia.

I held a new meeting of the General Staff today. First and foremost - the front line. Chief of General Staff Zaluzhnyi, commanders - reports on the situation at key axes.

Today, on the eve of Rescue Worker's Day, I congratulated the collective of Ukraine's State Emergency Service and thanked them for their brave and selfless work. I participated in awarding the winners of the All-Ukrainian Action "Hero-Savior of the Year". And this event is much more than just an official ceremony. Our gratitude to the workers and workeresses of the SES! Every state and public award for rescuers reflects that people's lives are being protected.

I met with Karim Khan, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

We talked about approaching justice for Ukraine and all those who suffered from Russian war crimes.

Responsibility must be clear, specific, completely just - exactly such as the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court against Putin. That is what the Russian dictator is really afraid of. And now he tries not to leave Russia's borders because the power of law is there and it is strong. And the world has all the means for the rule of law to finally overcome the aggression of a criminal force.

We are preparing for important international events planned for the second half of September. I held several lengthy meetings today on this topic. We are doing everything so that Ukraine will have significant results - both in new defense packages from partners and in decisions by international institutions.

We also work to strengthen Ukrainian institutions, making our state capable of finally eliminating oligarchic-corrupt influences. Influences which Russia has long used to weaken Ukraine and constantly undermine its sovereignty.

Today I held a broad and substantive meeting with representatives of law enforcement and anti-corruption bodies, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the government, and the Office. We are preparing conceptual steps that will give more justice to Ukraine and our entire society, ensuring stability for democracy in our country.

One more thing.

Today, Ukrainian Jewish communities together with all Jews around the world celebrate Rosh Hashanah. I wish everyone celebrating a peaceful new year - finally peaceful for all of Ukraine and its people. Ukraine deserves peace because it is doing everything to win.
