President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about his meeting with Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and representatives of Japanese business as well as another session of the General Staff.

We do not miss a single day for Ukraine.

Just now, I held a meeting with Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and representatives of Japanese business. About our resilience. About recovery and development. Energy, transport, demining, social sphere, creation of new jobs in Ukraine — I presented specific directions where we can achieve more together. Very important — telecommunications, information security, protection of our infrastructure, "green" energy, machine building, agricultural sector. I am confident that our partnership — between Ukraine and Japan — will become a global example. An example of how to protect life and create new opportunities for peoples. For free peoples.

A very important security result today — we agreed to start preparing a bilateral document with Japan on security guarantees. We are already working with the United States, with the United Kingdom, with Canada. Now — also with Japan.

These days, Speaker of Ukraine's Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk visited Japan for the "G7" parliamentary summit meeting. There was a strong declaration from the summit. Important meetings took place. Clear support for Ukraine and powerful signals that all of Ukrainian territory must be cleared of Russian troops, and only this opens the way to a just and reliable peace. I would like to specifically note the audience with His Majesty the Emperor of Japan — speakers of parliaments of the "G7", Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, President of the European Parliament. Very symbolic. And much speaks about what we have achieved. All together. Each one who fights for Ukraine, each one who works for Ukraine.

I also held a session of the General Staff today. Resilience — key issue. First and foremost our energy resilience. What needs to be done before winter, and what has already been done. Detailed reports from government officials, leaders of energy companies. Of course, there was a military component. Our intelligence. Clearly aware that Russian evil is also preparing for winter — preparing to inflict suffering. And everyone now in the state sector and local authorities must do everything possible, and when necessary, even impossible things, so that Ukraine can withstand winter and maintain full functionality. PPO, energy preparation, social system, appropriate support packages from partners — all officials and commanders have clear tasks. Regional administration leaders will report daily on preparations, every evening — a report for the government, Office. The Minister of Internal Affairs is tasked to prepare the DSNSS sector as much as possible — not only directly the work of the emergency service but also clear information to people about how protection will be ensured.

And I want to thank our partners — we have another agreement, Ukraine will receive more "cheetahs" for protecting our energy network. But we are mobilizing all forces. To increase the supply of various PPO systems and physical security of objects as well.

One more thing.

For many years now, in our country on the second Saturday of September, two professional communities celebrate their day simultaneously — the Day of Physical Culture and Sports and the Day of Ukrainian Cinema. And such coincidences are numerous in our calendar. The Day of Lawyer and the Day of Artist. The Day of Builder and the Day of Workers of Veterinary Medicine. There are coincidences of professional days and memorial days as well. For example, next year in March, the Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide coincides with Science Day. Clearly, there are many unacceptable mix-ups of meanings. Some professional communities still celebrate their day according to Soviet standards. Some extremely important memorial days and days of Ukrainian achievements are not reflected in our official calendar at all. Some professional communities whose work deserves both respect and attention do not yet have a professional day — for example, the community of Ukrainian historians. Actually, I tasked the Government of Ukraine, relevant state institutions to review this entire system of state attention and update it fairly and logically.

And today, I thank everyone who brings sporting victories to Ukraine, who trains our athletes, who teaches children proper physical fitness — now this is extremely important — adding Ukrainian sports infrastructure, appropriate experience from our sports, the experience of physical culture to a new rehabilitation system, to a system for restoring Ukrainians after injuries.

And today, on Ukrainian Cinema Day, I thank everyone working in our film industry for every emotional connection that our people, adults and children, feel when watching Ukrainian films, series, documentaries. A nation with its own strong and emotional cinema will have a determined place in this world, its dreams and its own vision of life.
