To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 15, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The three hundred and fifty-eighth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense are continuing offensive operations on the Bakhmut, Melitopol, and Berdyansk axes. Near Urozhainoye, they had success, consolidated at gained positions, inflicted artillery fire on identified targets of the enemy, carried out counter-battery measures. On the Bakhmut axis, forces of defense are conducting offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut.

Around 04.00 in the morning on August 15, 2023, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Ukraine with missiles from air and sea bases. In total, at least 28 cruise missiles of various types were fired: four Kh-22 cruise missiles, twenty Kh-101/555 cruise missiles, and four Kalibr cruise missiles. Air raid alerts were announced across the territory of Ukraine. Anti-aircraft defense systems operated in many regions: mobile artillery groups, strike aviation, and direct support units.

As a result of anti-aircraft combat by forces and means of the Air Force in coordination with subunits of other components of the Defense Forces, sixteen Kh-101/555 cruise missiles and Kalibr cruise missiles were destroyed. Additionally, eight launches of enemy air defense guided missiles S-300/S-400 were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

During the past day, Russian occupiers launched a missile-air attack on Ukrainian territory using eight Kalibr cruise missiles and fifteen Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike drones in Odesa region. As a result of successful combat operations by our anti-aircraft defense forces, all Kalibr missiles and UAVs were destroyed.

In total, the enemy carried out 14 missile strikes and 72 air attacks, conducted 63 artillery shelling of positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Residential buildings, shopping centers, dormitories, kindergartens, schools, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

During the past day, over 15 combat engagements took place.

On the Volyn and Polesie axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi axes, the enemy carried out air strikes in Pavlivka and Stepanovka regions of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts. He conducted mortar and artillery shelling of more than 25 populated areas, including Popivka, Gremyach, Chernihiv Oblast; Atinskye, Stepanovka, Vodolagyi, Sumy Oblast; and Hatrichysche, Plytenivka in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk axis, the enemy carried out air strikes in Ivanivka and Zagryzovo regions of Kharkiv Oblast and Stehlomakhivka in Luhansk Oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected more than 15 populated areas, including Figolivka, Petro-Pavlivka, Orlyanske, Kucherivka, Podolya, Pereshkotrivne Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman axis, the enemy carried out air strikes in Bilyhorod and Sporny regions of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected more than 25 populated areas, including Serbyanka, Dronivka, Zakitne, Viyimka, Pereyezne, Fedorivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy carried out air strikes in Vasylkivka and Klyschyivka regions of Donetsk Oblast. More than 25 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Oleksandr-Shulhtynne, Stupochki, Kurdyumivka, Ozaranyvka, Druzhba Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivskyi axis, the enemy carried out an air strike in Avdiyivka. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected populated areas of Keramik, Avdiyivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, Nevelsk Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol axis, forces of defense continue to hold back Russian troops' advance in Mariinka and Krasnogorivka regions of Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out an air strike in Krasnogorivka and Novomykhailivka regions of Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected more than 10 populated areas, including Krasnogorivka, Mariinka, Georgiyevka, Gostre, Novomykhailivka, Katerynovka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk axis, the enemy carried out air strikes in Velika Nova Sylka, Blagodatne, Makarivka and Urozhainoye regions of Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected more than 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolotaya Niva, Blagodatne, Urozhayne, Levadne, Stary Mayorovskye Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhya axis, the enemy carried out an air strike in Novodanylivka region of Zaporizhzhya Oblast. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Malinivka, Zaliznychnye, Bilyhorod, Stepanogorishche, Plevnivka Zaporizhzhya Oblast.

On the Kherson axis, the enemy carried out an air strike in Olhyvka region of Kherson Oblast. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Dniprovskye, Berehovoe, Velytenivske, Shirokabalka Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

In the town of Svatove in Luhansk Oblast, at the request of Russian occupying forces to change local self-government leadership, representatives of administrations and village councils are required to resign "voluntarily." Occupants plan to establish so-called "municipalities" led by local collaborators based on results of illegal so-called "elections" held in occupied territories. These so-called "elections" will take place on a single voting day in Russia — September 10.

Also, to replenish catastrophic losses in manpower, the enemy continues to conduct concealed mobilization in temporarily occupied territories. For example, in Starobilsk city of Luhansk Oblast, the so-called "authority" ordered all men working at state enterprises to undergo medical examination and enlist for military service.

Russian occupiers are trying to integrate the population of temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories into their cultural-educational space. In this regard, Russian occupation administration organized a learning process according to the Russian curriculum in school in Behteri village of Kherson Oblast. In this occupation school, oppressors force children from villages Obloye, Tendrivske, Zburivka and Novochernomorsk to study as well. To compel students to attend school under the Russian program, parents are threatened with administrative responsibility for missed classes.

In Mykhailivka village of Zaporizhzhya Oblast during filming by Russian propagandists, a verbal altercation occurred between cadres and Dagestanis, during which both sides opened fire with small arms. Later during the scuffle, one occupant was inflicted multiple stab wounds incompatible with life. This killing led to confrontation between occupying units using grenade launchers, grenades, and small arms. As a result of combat confrontation, over 20 occupants were killed on each side, more than 40 were wounded. The commander of the cadre unit as punishment was sent to frontline positions.

Air Force of Defense Forces carried out one strike against command point and seven strikes against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment during the past day, three strikes against air defense missile systems of the enemy.

Also, our defenders destroyed an enemy attack helicopter Ka-52.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, three artillery means on firing positions and one RBU station of the enemy during the past day.

In total, Ukrainian warriors liquidated 540 Russian occupants in the past day, destroyed seven tanks, sixteen armored combat vehicles, twenty-nine artillery systems, three air defense means, one helicopter, twenty-nine UAVs at operational-tactical level, eight cruise missiles, twenty-two cars and three units of special equipment.
