To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 3, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twentieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our country has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense are continuing offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdyansk fronts.

The enemy made unsuccessful offensive actions in northern and central Mariinka, unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions along the Urozhayne-Blagodatne axis and west of Staromayskoye. The enemy suffers significant losses in manpower, weapons, and equipment. At the same time, the enemy continues to put up strong resistance, moves units and troops, and employs reserves.

On the night of August 3, 2023, the enemy attacked from a northern direction (Bryansk region) with Shahed strike drones. A total of 15 such drones were launched. Using air force means in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, all enemy drones were destroyed.

During the past day, Russia also carried out strikes using Iranian Shahed drones. Ukraine's anti-aircraft defense shot down 23 strike drones. The enemy delivered five missile attacks, eighty-nine air strikes, and sixty-seven shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers on our troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population.

The likelihood of further missile and aerial attacks across Ukraine remains very high.

During the past day, forty-four combat engagements took place.

On the Volyn and Polissya fronts, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Volfino, Stepnoe Chernihiv region, and Kozatska Lopan Kharkiv region. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling on over 25 populated areas, including Senkivka, Karpovychi, Novovasylivka Chernihiv region; Volfino, Krasnopolia, Rozhkovychi, Stara Huta, Grabovske Sumy region, and Timofiyivka, Veterinarnoe, Okhrimivka, Petro-Pavlivka Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Petro-Pavlivka, Ivanivka and Kislivka. The villages of Kamianka, Dvorychyna, Zapadne, Novomlynsk, Figolivka, Kindrashyvka, Krasnoe Pereche, and Kupyansk Kharkiv region suffered artillery and mortar shelling.

On the Lyman front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Bakhmutka Luhansk region and Seriyevka-Spirne Donets. The villages of Nevske, Bakhmutka on Luhansk territory, and Verkhnyokamiansk, Spirne, and Torske Donetsk region suffered artillery shelling.

On the Bakhmut front, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions west of Kurydyumivka, south of Andriyivka, and west of Klitschyivka Donetsk region. The occupiers carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Fedorivka, Mykolaivskiy, Druzhba, and New York. Over ten populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Bogdanivka, Bila Gora, Chasiv Yar, and Ivanivske Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivka front, the enemy carried out an aerial strike in the area of Avdiyivka. The villages of Novokalynove, Stepole, Berdychy, Lastochkine, Avdiyivka and Pervomaiske Donetsk region suffered artillery shelling.

On the Mariinka front, forces of defense continue to hold back Russian troops in the area of Mariinka city. The enemy carried out shelling on populated areas of Krasnogorivka, Oleksandropil, Gostre, Mariinka, Paraskevivka and Novomikhaylivka Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Staromayskoye and Makarivka. Made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions west of Staromayskoye and north of Urozhayne. Over fifteen populated areas suffered from artillery shelling, including Vuhledar, Vodyane, Blagodatne, Storozhove, Rivnopil, and Zelenoe Pole Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya front, the enemy is concentrating its efforts to prevent further advancement of our troops. The enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Hulyaypole, Mala Tokmakha, Novodanilivka and Pyatykatky Zaporizhzhya region. Over fifteen populated areas suffered from artillery shelling, including Novodarivka, Bilyhorod, Hulyaypole, Zaliznytsne, Pyatykatky, and Kamianske Zaporizhzhya region.

On the Kherson front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Otradokamianska and Antonivka. Over twenty populated areas suffered from artillery shelling, including Vesele, Dudchany, Dniprovskiy, Tyagynka, Lvov, Kizomys, and Kherson city.

At the same time, forces of defense continue offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdyansk fronts, consolidate on achieved lines, conduct counter-battery measures.

Russian occupiers continue mobilization of prisoners. According to an order from so-called «MVD DNR», recruitment into internal troops units is being carried out for individuals serving sentences or detained for minor or medium offenses. It was also established that injuries sustained during combat do not remove the sentence from convicted persons, and charges against those under investigation will only be dropped upon demobilization. Terrorists have been tasked with intensifying work to combat crime and increasing internal troops units by 1000 people at the expense of suspects in criminal offenses. At the same time, re-qualification for collaborators-police who switched sides to Russia will be conducted after they complete combat assignments as part of formed battalions of internal troops so-called «MVD DNR».

In some populated areas of Henichesk district, armed servicemen from the Russian military police are conducting document checks, interviews, and clarifications on personal data for men. Document checks may be related to mobilization measures.

In Lysychansk city in a general education school №14 premises, an occupation humanitarian headquarters of the «United Russia» party operates and there is a constant gathering of civilians. At night, however, the basement of this educational institution was used as shelter for Russian servicemen.

The aviation of defense forces carried out nine strikes on areas of enemy manpower concentration, weapons, and military equipment during the past day, and three — on enemy air defense systems. Also, our defenders destroyed nine operational-tactical reconnaissance drones.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage to twenty-one artillery means at firing positions, one radar station, three command points, one area of weapons and military equipment concentration, two anti-aircraft defense means, one manpower concentration area, and two ammunition depots of the enemy during the past day.

Overall, our soldiers liquidated 620 Russian occupiers in the past day. The enemy lost seven tanks, twenty-one armored combat vehicles, twenty-six artillery systems, four MLRS, two anti-aircraft defense means, thirty-five operational-tactical reconnaissance drones, twenty-three vehicles, and three units of special equipment.
