President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the security foundation of Europe after this war and our victory, as well as the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Just concluded a conversation with President Macron of France, and this is already my third international meeting today – after talks with the NATO Secretary-General and the Prime Minister of Sweden. The main thing – our defense, front lines, weapons, capabilities of our soldiers, and I am grateful to partners for understanding our needs. Agreed on new defense packages, and by the way, thank you Emmanuel, because today the weapons we agreed upon are starting to arrive – missiles, tanks.

But, of course, we also spoke about more strategic issues today – about how the security foundation of Europe will look after this war and our victory.

To bring peace sooner and make it lasting, honest, real, Russian evil must see what border for Kremlin ambitions we will establish. We ourselves – all free European nations, everyone in our Euro-Atlantic community, not Russian terrorists and any of their blackmail or aggression.

We are adding content to the NATO summit taking place in Vilnius next week every day, and I am grateful to all our partners who are working with us on strengthening the Alliance, thus ensuring security in Europe – real security. Today, in talks with President Macron, Prime Minister of Sweden, and NATO Secretary-General, we coordinated steps before Vilnius.

Also held several meetings with government officials and our international team from the Office to prepare for upcoming foreign policy events.

Very important – regarding the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Right now, the whole world must be aware that collective security is entirely dependent on global attention to occupiers' actions on the site. Russia must clearly understand: the world sees what scenarios terrorists are preparing for and the world is ready to react.

Radiation – it's a threat to everyone in the world, and the nuclear power plant must be fully secured from any radiation incidents. Today exactly 16 months have passed since Russian troops completely controlled the territory and facilities of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Various countries around the world have their own intelligence and other capabilities to know precisely what is happening and who is responsible.

Currently, from our intelligence, we have information that on the roofs of several power units at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant Russian troops placed objects similar to explosive devices. Perhaps to simulate an attack on the station. Maybe they have some other scenario. But in any case, the world sees – and cannot not see! – that the only source of danger for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is Russia itself. And no one else.

Unfortunately, there was no timely and massive response to the terror attack on the Kakhovska Hydroelectric Power Plant. And this may inspire the Kremlin to new evil.

Stopping it – this is the responsibility of everyone in the world, and no one can remain aloof because radiation does not leave anyone aloof.

Thank you President Macron for your attention to the situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP and for being ready to do everything necessary to ensure security.

One more thing.

Today, Russia struck Kharkiv region again, the city of Pervomaisk. Probably an Iskander missile. Eight multi-story civilian buildings were damaged. Over 40 people were injured, including 12 children and two infants under a year old... As of now, rescuers together with police are still conducting inspections of damaged buildings. All those injured by this missile strike will be provided with all necessary assistance.

And for this attack the enemy will pay, as it does for every other one.

Russian terrorists want to set an example in how they destroy life. We will set an example in how we protect life and then how life responds – justly and inevitably – to each strike by each terrorist.

Nazis tried to hide from justice for a long time. But many of them have been found and continue to be brought to account. We caught the Russians much faster.

By the way, I still have a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs Klimenko and Security Service head Malyuk – about new challenges for our security and about the general situation. There was also today's meeting with intelligence.

We know how to put terrorists in their place.
