From June 7, the Ukrainian U-21 national team is holding a training camp in Styria, Austria, as they prepare for the final tournament of Euro 2023 (U-21).

On Saturday, June 10, Ivan Zhelezko arrived at the camp after playing for his "Valmiera" team in Latvia's championship. With this, the squad has gathered in full strength — under Ruslan Rotan's command, there are now 25 players.

For three days, the youth national team worked at their base in a single training session mode. On Sunday and Monday, one practice is planned each day, while on Tuesday, June 13, the team will face Kuwait's under-21s (kick-off time - 7 PM Kyiv time). Additionally, we remind you that they will play against Ireland on the 16th of this month (7 PM).

Players from Ukraine's youth national team shared their impressions and expectations about the upcoming European Championship with the UAF press service.

Oleg Ocheretko: "The season is over, we are all focused on winning at Euro. All boys, coaching staff are ready to go for victory, to come out of the group stage. We represent our country, we want to win and give joy to our fans, those who protect us."

Vladimir Bratchko: "The European Championship is a very important tournament for us to showcase ourselves and make a statement about Ukraine. Motivation is always there; we will do everything we can."

Dmitry Kryskiv: "All opponents are good. I think that at this stage, there are no weak opponents anymore, so we'll be preparing accordingly."

Alexander Syrota: "I always enjoyed the atmosphere in the youth national team. Some of the boys I haven't seen for a long time. We joke around and encourage each other. Coach Ruslan Petrovich said we need to aim for the Olympics, the boys agree with this. We need to remember all our combinations and interactions; in a week, I think we'll be ready. Our group is very tough: Croatia has always been strong at both youth and national levels, Spain's level is well-known by everyone, and it was not easy against Romania when we played in Kyiv."

Bogdan Vyunnyk: "When you come to the national team, it leaves a lasting impression. We have character; we play no worse than our opponents, some of whom cost 100 million euros each. I've played against Spanish players before and know many of them. Croatia and Romania are not weaker either, so we'll prepare for these matches as if they were the final."

The official squad list for Ukraine's youth national team at Euro 2023 will include 23 players, and some may be called up from the senior national team's June training camp.

In June, Ukraine's youth national team will participate in the final tournament of Euro 2023 (U-21). In total, 16 teams will take part in this event which will be held between June 21 and July 8 in Georgia and Romania. According to the draw results that took place on October 18 last year in Bucharest, blue-and-yellow Ukraine landed in Group B where they will face Romania, Spain, and Croatia. The three best teams at Euro 2023 (excluding France and England) will receive Olympic tickets for the 2024 Olympics.
