After a three-year break due to the pandemic and Russia's full-scale invasion of our country, Ukraine's youngest women's national team has once again been able to gather for a training camp and check their nearest reserve for future participation in official UEFA European Championship and Development Tournaments.
On June 5, the team gathered in Ternopil, and just three days later they played their first friendly match against peers from SK "Ladomir" (Vladimir) — 8:1. Today, the blue-and-yellow team faced off with "Ruh" (Lviv).
Even in the first half, both teams managed to score five goals each. There were also some curious goals, but Lviv's team went into halftime ahead. After Anastasia Grimak and Christina Klim scored for their side, Daria Kolodiy and Dariya Ivasko responded with successful shots for Oleksieva's protégés.
In the second half, Ukraine's national team played more organized and managed to equalize in the match — Kolodiy scored another goal. There were good moments from Kozishkurta and Lesphuk, but fatigue took its toll, and ultimately it was execution that prevailed.
