The ceremony, which will start at 12:00 PM Kyiv time, will determine the group compositions of both leagues and hosts for this fall's mini-tournaments. This is reported by the official UEFA website.

In League A, 28 teams will compete, including seven that moved up from League B based on the results of the second round of the 2022/2023 season, which concluded this spring. They will be divided into seven groups. Teams in one group will play each other at the home ground of one of the participants in a mini-tournament format. The teams finishing fourth will continue their season in the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round of League A will depend on the positions that teams secure in their groups during the first round.

In League B, 23 teams (including those who dropped from League A at the end of the second round of the 2022/2023 season) compete for promotion to League A across six groups. The group winners and runners-up with the best record against the first and third-placed teams in their groups will move up to a higher division. Lithuania will also participate despite having an automatic qualification spot as hosts of the final stage.

Based on the results of the second round of League A, seven teams will join Lithuania for the finals of Euro-2024.

Draw Order

In the first round, 51 participants will be divided into League A (28 teams) and League B (23 teams) based on their ranking at the end of the second round in the 2022/2023 season.

Teams in League A will be split into seven quartets, while those in League B will be divided into five quartets and one trio.

All teams are distributed across four pots (in League A - seven teams per pot; in League B - six teams each for Pots 1 and 2, eleven for Pot 3). Each group in League A will have one representative from each pot. In League B, every group will include one team from the first and second pots, two teams from the third pot will be allocated to all groups except V6, which will receive only one.

According to previous decisions by UEFA's Executive Committee and the UEFA Working Group on Extraordinary Situations, certain national teams cannot end up in the same group: Armenia and Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

After the draw, hosts for mini-tournaments will be determined. Matches will take place either from September 19/20 to September 25/26 or from October 24/25 to October 30/31, or from November 27/28 to December 4/5, 2023.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian WU-19 women's national team will compete in League B since it secured the last place in its group of League A during the second round of the 2022/2023 season.
