To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 12, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred forty-third day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, the enemy carried out six rocket attacks, including on the cities of Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Zaporizhzhia. Additionally, 59 enemy air strikes and 95 artillery shelling with multiple launch rocket systems were recorded against our positions and populated areas. Civilians suffered, private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high as the Russian Federation continues its policy of terror.

The enemy continues to concentrate main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes — 44 attacks by the enemy were repelled. The most intense battles are ongoing for the cities of Bakhmut and Mariupol.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, signs of forming offensive groups by the enemy have not been detected. Russia continues to use the territory and material-technical base of the Republic of Belarus for training and combat readiness of mobilized units of the Russian Armed Forces, which are then deployed in military operations on Ukrainian territory.

On the Northern and Slobidska directions, during the past day, the enemy carried out air strikes on areas near the populated places of Krasnyi Hutyr in Chernihiv Oblast and Krinidivka, Znob-Novgorodskoe, and Uralove in Sumy Oblast. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling of the populated places of Galaganyvka and Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Novovasylivka, Ukrainivke, Znob-Novgorodskoe, Muravyevo, Chervone, Iskriskyshchyna, Bilyopilya, Yastrubyn, Kindyativka, and Basivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Huryi, Glybokoye, Staritsa, Bugruvatka, Ogireve, Gatishe, Vovchan'sk, Tykhie, Synel'nikove, Zybino, Bokhovo, Budarky, and Velikyi Burluk in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk direction, during the past day, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions. Carried out an air strike near Pishchane. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy were experienced by Otradne, Dvorychan'ske, Kam'yanka, Topoli, Krasne Pereche, Figolivka, Novomlyn'sk, Dvorycha, Tabayivka in Kharkiv Oblast, as well as Stehl'makhivka — Luhansk.

On the Lyman direction, occupiers carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near Seriyevskoye Forest. Carried out air strikes near Grekivka, Verkhnyokamyans'ke, Spirnoye, and Bihorivka. Artillery shelling was experienced by Makieyivka and Nev'ske in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Bihorivka, Torske, Seriyevka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirne, Berestove, and Vesele on the Donetsk side.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to advance. Battles are ongoing in the city of Bakhmut. During the past day, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Stupochok. Carried out air strikes on areas near populated places of Bakhmut, White Hill, Kurdyumivka, and New York. Civilian casualties were sustained by Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivdenne, Toretsk, Pivnichne, and New York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions near Avdiivka. Conducted shelling of populated places Novokalynove, Berdychi, Stepole, Severne, and Pervomayske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol direction, units of the Defense Forces repelled numerous attacks near Mariupol. Also, enemy shelling was experienced by Gorye, Georgiyivka, and Pobeda in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, during the day the enemy carried out offensive actions near Novomykhailivka without success. Carried out air strikes near Vuhledar and Prechystyvka. Conducted shelling of populated places Paraskeviivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrayinka, and Prechystyvka.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, occupiers are defending. Carried out air strikes on areas near Mala Tokmakha, Omelyanka, and Kizomys. Shelled populated places Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk Oblast; Olhyvsko, Hulyaypole, Zaliznytsne, Hulyaypol'ske, Bihor'ya, Mala Tokmacha, and Kam'yans'ke in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Nikopol — Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; Zolotaya Balka, Vesel'e, Lvov'e, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Kizomys Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 14 strikes on areas with enemy personnel and military equipment concentrations during the day. In addition, nine enemy drones of various types were destroyed. And units of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage to eleven command posts, nineteen areas of live force concentration, one ammunition depot, one propellant material depot, nine artillery units in firing positions, one anti-aircraft weapon system, and two other important targets.
