President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about new sanctions against those who support Russian aggression and about additional military aid packages for our soldiers from the USA and Canada.
"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!
Today, three new sanction decisions have come into effect regarding those who are involved in supporting Russian aggression.
Firstly, this is another package of sanctions against the Russian defense industry — enterprises that supply the army of terrorists. This time, 322 companies have been added to the sanctions list — manufacturers of weapons and components.
The other two sanction lists include physical and legal entities who help circumvent sanctions against Russia, hold assets of war criminals, and are involved in destroying freedom both on Russian territory and on our land.
Our sanction packages are thoroughly processed, including synchronization with partners. This is one of the key joint tasks — for everyone who wants a faster end to the war, a quicker victory for us. The task is to eliminate any possibilities for Russia to circumvent sanctions. Every Russian scheme that allows circumventing sanctions adds time to this war and opportunities for the aggressor.
Therefore, the stricter the sanction regime against Russia, the more restrictions on the state of terrorists and all associated individuals, the faster will be the end of aggression. And I thank everyone in the world who understands this.
It is important that global restrictive work has begun regarding the Russian nuclear industry.
This sector not only generates funds for the aggressor's budget but also helps to put other countries under dependency, where supposedly nuclear energy projects are implemented. Any energy for the Kremlin — this is a weapon. Nuclear energy for them is also a weapon.
And precisely this is happening at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which Russia uses as a weapon of blackmail against the world. For blackmail with catastrophe.
And it's good that Britain, America, France, Japan, Canada have formed an alliance to remove the nuclear industry of the terrorist state from the global market.
I would like to thank today the USA and Canada for new military aid packages for our soldiers. Thank you, friends!
The Netherlands — thank you for strengthening PPO and for the joint decision with Denmark regarding tanks.
Thank you Germany. There are new steps that will ensure more peace in our skies, and there may be new steps that bring more peace to our land. We await these decisions.
Thank you Estonia, Finland for new defense packages. Thank you Slovakia for aviation.
Thank you Switzerland for new sanction steps against Russian terrorists.
Next week in relations with partners we prepare no less resultative than this one. Each such result for Ukraine — is saved lives of our people, the ability of our soldiers to defend life, repel Russian assaults and prepare Ukrainian active actions.
I thank all our soldiers who are now in battle! Especially those who are now in the most severe frontline positions — Mariinka and Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Lyman direction. It's precisely there that it is the hottest.
Thank you to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, National Guard, border guards…
Today I would like to highlight the unit of GUR MoD Timur, which fights in Bakhmut. Thank you, guys, for your bravery and effectiveness!
Glory to all our soldiers!
Glory to all our heroes of different times who fought for our independence!
Ukraine will always be free!
Glory to Ukraine!">
