Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 21, 2023, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and twenty-second day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, the Russian Federation carried out 23 air strikes. Last night, the enemy used approximately 10 drones of the "Shahed-136" type (information is being verified), eight of which were destroyed by our defenders. Additionally, Russian aggressors conducted 49 attacks with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. There are casualties among civilians, as well as damage to private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the territory of Ukraine remains quite high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations along the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes at a great cost. Over 60 attacks by the enemy were repelled during the past day. The fiercest battles are being fought for the city of Bakhmut.

On the Volyn, Polesie, Sever, and Slobozhansky axes, the operational situation — remains unchanged. During the past day, the enemy shelled populated areas of Yanzhulivka, Hlaganivka, and Gremyachka in Chernihiv Oblast; Stukalivka and Pavlivka — Sumy Oblast, as well as Kozacha Lopan', Hopivka, Neskuchne, and Khatnye on the Kharkivshchyna.

On the Kupyansk axis, enemy shelling was experienced by Krasnoye First, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast during the past day.

On the Lyman axis, the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position, conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near the Serbiansky forest. Artillery shelling has already hit Stepanovka, Nevske, Dibrova, and Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Ivanivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Spirene on the Donetschyna.

On the Bakhmut axis, the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations. Intense battles are ongoing for the city of Bakhmut. As a result of enemy shelling, Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Zaliznyanske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomar'kove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Oleksandr-Shultyne, Bila Gora, Druzhba, Zalizne, Nelypivka, and New York in Donetsk Oblast were affected.

On the Avdiivka axis, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the areas of Kamianka, Pervomaiske, and Nevel'ske in Donetsk Oblast but did not achieve success. It shelled Keramik, Stepole, Kamianka, Tonennye, Severne, Karlivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevel'ske.

On the Mariupol axis, during the past day our defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the areas of Mariupol and Victory in Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, Mariupol, Maximilianska, Georgiyivka, Mariupol, Victory, and Novomikhaylivka were shelled.

On the Shakhtarsk axis, during the past day the enemy shelled populated areas of Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosyilka, Zolotaya Niva, Perechystivka, and Ugledar in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson axes, the enemy is defending. At the same time, it carried out shelling of more than 40 populated areas during the day. Among them — Olhivske, Malynivka, Orikhyv, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriyivka in Zaporizhzhya Oblast; Dudchani, Kachkarivka, Zmiyivka, Ivanivka, Inzhenerne, Dniprovskoye in Kherson Oblast, as well as the city of Kherson.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out six strikes against areas where occupiers are concentrated during the day, while rocket units and artillery divisions inflicted damage on five command points of the enemy over the course of a day.
