President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the fight for life and freedom shoulder to shoulder with Polish brothers and sisters and about inviting our country to join NATO.
"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!
It is pleasant to conclude this week with good results for the state — in terms of weapons, international support, expanding our connections with the world, and moving towards NATO.
The most significant events over these days, of course, — were my visit to Poland, our agreements, our achievements.
Poland has fulfilled everything declared regarding tanks: they are already in Ukraine, including "Leopards". There are new agreements on BMPs — more than a hundred vehicles. Regarding armored personnel carriers —"wolves" — 200 vehicles. A hundred now and another hundred later. And also self-propelled mortar systems, additional rockets, MiGs...
We have important agreements regarding the economy, regarding rebuilding Ukraine — especially for our Kharkiv region.
At the level of first ladies of Ukraine and Poland there are various humanitarian projects, medical ones. This includes training our doctors in comprehensive patient care with palliative care and emergency air evacuation of wounded, including in combat zones. Dozens of our medics have already completed or are undergoing such training. And the project will continue — with rehabilitation training for Ukrainian psychologists.
So, in this fight for life and freedom we truly stand shoulder to shoulder with Polish brothers and sisters — in all spheres. And I thank you for such constant, multifaceted, and massive support!
There is also a new, already the 35th defense package from the US. Missiles for "HIMARS", missiles for air defense systems, artillery shells, protection against armored vehicles, and other important elements of support. Thank you, America!
German support for Ukraine this week has increased by 200 million euros in investments into our country. This includes projects by German companies that will help stabilize our economy, and thus also our social stability. I thank Germany!
The Netherlands announced a package worth more than 270 million euros. This is aid for our reconstruction, humanitarian, non-lethal support for defense, as well as — this is very important — support for justice, for collecting evidence of Russian crimes, for creating a register of losses inflicted by the Russian aggression. I thank the Netherlands for protecting life together on all fronts!
Denmark and Norway are working on a joint package of assistance with ammunition for our artillery. Thank you for this!
There are new sanctions decisions from Australia and New Zealand. I thank them for these!
I continued addressing parliaments around the world and for the first time addressed the parliament of Latin America, the Chilean parliament.
In fact, the values we all fight for here in Ukraine are close to every nation regardless of how far they are from us geographically.
Everyone treasures security and protection from terror. There is no people who would approve what Russian occupation brought: Russian concentration camps, deportation of our children, rape of women, burning down cities...
The more the world knows about Russian aggression, the sooner the aggressor will lose, and peace will return. It will not only return to Ukraine — it will return to everyone in the world. I thank Chile for its support!
A very important decision was made this week in Lithuania regarding the main expectations from the NATO summit planned in Vilnius.
The Lithuanian Seimas recognized the need to invite Ukraine to become a member of NATO — to invite it this year, at the summit in Vilnius.
I thank the Lithuanian people and all Lithuanian politicians for understanding the current security situation in Europe. Only together with Ukraine will the Alliance guarantee real protection for Europe from any threat to the lives of nations — on existing borders and an international order based on rules. Without Ukraine, it is hard to imagine strength.
This decision by the Lithuanian Seimas will have a continuation in the coming weeks and months. We are already working on this.
And of course, I thank our soldiers. All! Armed Forces and border guards, National Guard and police, intelligence and SBU, State Special Communications Service and DSSNS... Everyone who is now at war. Who protects our sky. Who gives Ukraine cyber protection and protects communications. Everyone who holds our border. Who trains new brigades of ours. Who liquidates the consequences of strikes, who rescues our people from injuries and prepares verdicts for occupiers.
Glory to all who fight for Ukraine! Thank you to all partners for powerful assistance!
Glory to Ukraine!"
