President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about a new field meeting of the General Staff in Chernihiv and emphasizing the inevitability of legal and just accountability for every crime committed on our land by Russia.

"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!

Summarizing this eventful day.

The General Staff. A new field meeting of the General Staff – the first was in Dnipro, now it is in Chernihiv.

Key security issues on the front lines, in northern regions and at the border.

Reports from sector commanders. This time Generals Syrskyi and Taranavskyy reported over secure communication channels rather than personally, from the hottest spots of the frontline.

The situation in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and throughout Donetsk. Bilohorivka and all of Luhansk.

Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, head of the State Border Guard Service, representatives from the Ministry of Defense.

A full-fledged meeting. Full coordination. Comprehensive preparation for our active actions aimed at liberating Ukrainian territories.

In Chernihiv Oblast today there were many different events and meetings since morning.

One of the most emotionally charged trips.

Visited Yagodynne – a small village in our Chernihiv region, which Russian beasts turned into one of the world's largest examples of human suffering last year.

Russian soldiers made a command post out of the school in Yagodynne and forced all villagers to hide in the basement. Just like living shields.

From March 3rd to March 30th last year, occupiers held over three hundred people in the basement of this school... A regular village school, a basement – less than two hundred meters.

Older people and very young children, women and men... The oldest woman was 93 years old, the youngest child was less than half a year.

This basement, this concentration camp in Yagodynne, along with all other crimes of Russia against humanity, will never be forgiven by our state or anyone else.

The Kremlin will not succeed in covering up their crimes at the UN Security Council chair, through gas pipelines or anything else. Legal and just accountability for every Russian crime committed on Ukrainian soil is inevitable. In a tribunal, at the International Criminal Court, in Ukrainian courts.

I thank guests of Ukraine who accompanied me to Chernihiv Oblast, who saw this concentration of Russian evil in our Yagodynne. I thank Vice-Chancellor of Germany Robert Habeck and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić. Thank you also for the meetings – meaningful and right.

I thank UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay for her attention to Ukraine, for today's meetings in Ukraine. We are preparing to grant historical central Chernihiv a status of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The same status recently acquired by our Odessa’s historic center.

As always, it was an honor to visit our soldiers in the hospital recovering from combat injuries. To thank them for everything they do for Ukraine and their faith in Ukraine that our people defend risking the most precious – their lives.

Presented Chernihiv with a Hero City award, a city of heroes. Chernihiv has seen various occupiers, different evil... Defending against this Russian evil is perhaps the most important thing in our history.

Honored our soldiers who distinguished themselves in defending the state.

And very importantly – thanked everyone involved in rebuilding Chernihiv Oblast. Everything that the enemy destroyed, we will rebuild.

Ukraine will never be a land of ruins, no matter how much they dream about it in the Kremlin. Their dreams do not come true.

Here, in Kyiv, after returning, I met with a delegation of American congressmen.

Thanked for America's constant strong support – from President Biden and the White House team to both houses of Congress and the entire US system.

Of course, talked about active actions of Ukraine. Of course, about our shared victory.

Also met with Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State of the USA.

Thank you all who help us defend freedom! Today I especially thank Denmark and Norway for their government initiatives to transfer additional artillery rounds to our soldiers. This is very timely and useful.

Every day we become stronger. Every day we are closer to the day when the state-terrorist will answer.

Glory to all who fight for Ukraine now! Eternal glory to those who gave their lives for Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!"
