To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on March 23, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The start of the three hundred ninety-third day of Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

The Russian Federation continues its military aggression against Ukraine, with no intention of abandoning its goal of fully occupying Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The enemy is continuing offensive actions on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariupol, and Shakhtarsk directions, while defending on others. Units of the Armed Forces repelled 83 enemy attacks in the eastern sector of the front over the past day.

The Russian aggressor continues to employ its usual tactic of terrorizing civilian populations, shelling populated areas as well as critical infrastructure objects.

Over the past day, the enemy carried out a missile strike on Zaporizhzhia. Russian missiles hit a multi-story residential building. There are fatalities and injuries among civilians. The enemy also conducted 48 air strikes, including against civilian critical infrastructure objects in the regions of Zhitomir and Kyiv. Occupants used 21 drones of the "Shahed-136" type from Bryansk Oblast of the Russian Federation; 16 of these drones were shot down. As a result of enemy drone strikes, there are fatalities and injuries among civilians. The enemy also carried out 75 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers.

The threat of further enemy attacks remains across the entire territory of Ukraine.

On the Volyn, Polesie, Sever, and Slobozhansky directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No formations for offensive operations by the enemy have been detected. Russian leadership continues to use Belarusian infrastructure to prepare its troops. The enemy maintains a military presence in border areas. During the day, the enemy shelled the areas of Hrynyvka, Arkhipivka and Mykhailychyna Sloboda in Chernihiv Oblast; Demianivka, Esman, Atynske, Iskriskyshchyna, Bilypillia, Volvino, Pavlivka, Basivka, Yungykyva and Krasnopillya in Sumy Oblast as well as Basove, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Vesele, Vovchanske, Ohrymovka, Krasne Pereche and Kindrashyvka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy continues attempts to break through our defenses. Conducted unsuccessful offensive actions around Makieivka, Bihorivka and Verkhnyokamyanske settlements. Carried out artillery shelling of areas near Krokhmalne in Kharkiv Oblast; Novoselivske, Nevske, Bihorivka — Luhansk Oblast, as well as Terny, Kolodyazi, Severnyi, Verkhnyokamyanske and Spirene in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues offensive actions, losing a significant number of personnel, weapons and military equipment. Our defenders are repelling numerous attacks by the enemy around Bakhmut, Bogdanivka and Predtekhinoye settlements. Over 15 populated areas near the line of contact were shelled by the enemy, including Vasylkivka, Mynkyvka, Orhyhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivnichne and Pivdenne in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka, Mariupol, and Shakhtarsk directions, the enemy carried out offensive actions around Novokalynove, Stebne, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Lastochkyne, Severne, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Mariinka and Victory settlements — without success. Over 20 populated areas near the line of contact were shelled by the enemy, including Avdiivka, Tonikyne, Severne, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Netaylove, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka and Volhedar in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is conducting defensive actions. Areas of over 45 populated areas near the line of contact were shelled, including Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Mali Shcherbaki in Zaporizhzhia Oblast as well as Hryhalivka, Ivanivka, Zelenivka, Dniprovsk and the city of Kherson.

In the populated areas of Reshetilovske, Chumakske and Kostyantynivka in temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russian occupiers conducted house-to-house searches and warned local residents about the need to stay in safe places with an order not to leave their homes. This may indicate that Russian occupiers are trying to prevent local population from observing enemy's planned redeployment of personnel and military equipment to the line of combat engagement.

The Russian Federation does not abandon its occupation war, regardless of numerous casualties. Continuously using measures for replenishment of losses in manpower. Thus, in one of the units stationed in South Ossetia, active work is being done with conscripts regarding signing contracts and further participation in combat operations on Ukrainian territory. It was established that from March 1 to 10, over 50 Russian conscripts signed a contract. They were sent to Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast without proper military training.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation carried out an attack on enemy's air defense missile complex and also conducted 12 strikes against areas of personnel concentration and military equipment of occupiers. And our units of rocket troops and artillery hit one command point, three areas of personnel concentration of the enemy, a munitions depot and one station for radio-electronic warfare.
