President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about work to fulfill the country's strategic mission and about a visit by UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Kyiv.
"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!
A brief report on this day.
Held a meeting with the military, intelligence. The front line, our defense, the battle for Bakhmut and all of Donbas. This is the first priority.
We are doing everything to ensure that our tactical steps materialize into strategic goals — towards success in Ukraine's fight for all temporarily occupied territories of our country.
And I thank every one of our soldiers who is fighting. Fighting for Ukraine, for their comrades-in-arms. Thank you to everyone defending positions, everyone repelling attacks, everyone helping with fire support those nearby in battle. It's very important that the front line — it's not just a line on a map, it's people, resilience, readiness to fight, mutual support and help.
And this is help from our entire nation to those who are fighting now.
Help from everyone providing logistics for the front lines and fighters. From all volunteering for our heroic combat brigades and other units of the defense forces. From everyone working and paying taxes so that Ukraine can hold out.
Every day at every level in Ukraine must be beneficial to our defense.
We are preparing new fully justified steps by our state against those in Ukraine who still try to weaken the country, undermine the strength of our society. Soon a new meeting of the State Security and Defense Council will take place, with corresponding sanction projects.
Internal security of Ukraine — is also a top priority.
Today in Kyiv was UN Secretary-General António Guterres on a visit. Important talks.
Key issue — this is the question of defense. Defense of Ukraine, of the entire international order. The question of peace — for us and for the world. Judgment for the aggressor.
We discussed with Mr. Guterres the situation regarding our people held in Russian captivity. These are imprisoned Ukrainians as well as deported adults and children. We must bring everyone back.
Discussed the situation at Ukrainian nuclear facilities, threats created by Russia.
Discussed food security and Ukraine's global role as a guarantor of food stability. This is in the interest of our country and all decent nations of the world to keep food exports from Ukraine stable.
And, of course, I presented my vision of the possibilities of UN institutions, the UN Charter that could contribute to the implementation of Ukraine's peace formula — all its points.
And one more thing worth mentioning today.
I want to thank everyone who these days on squares and streets in Georgia held Ukrainian flags. I want to thank for our national anthem that rang out in Tbilisi. This is respect for Ukraine, and I want to express sincere respect to Georgia.
There isn't a single Ukrainian who does not wish success to our friendly Georgia. Democratic success. European success.
We want to be in the EU — and we will be. We want Georgia to be in the EU, and I am sure it will be. We want Moldova to be in the EU, and I am sure it will be. This is deserved by all free peoples of Europe.
Glory to all who are now fighting for Ukraine! Glory to all who fight for their comrades-in-arms!
Glory to Ukraine!»
